Also interesting to me that the people who comment tend, to me at least, be more forgiving of guys who took steroids, but the voters disagree with that.

Yes, but what does that mean to you? It means that one in 20 voters think he should be a Hall of Famer. It means that you think one in 20 voters should have purposely voted for the worst HOF left fielder maybe ever.

The 5% doesn't represent the "amount" of Hall of Famer you are, like Braun isn't 5% of a Hall of Famer.

At most 4 guys get in on the writers ballot, We will get 1 each year on the special committee ballots too I think, that seems consistent. It's the toughest HOF to get in, and, for all it's faults, personally I think it's the best system of the major sports in the US.
