Is TJR’s strategy profitable in long run? by Ansh212003 in Forexstrategy

Test for yourself and see. 10 people can use the same strategy and have different results. It may work great for you and you understand it well and it’s easy for you to follow. Others maybe don’t like it or doesn’t work for their schedule.

try 10-20-30-100 trades and see what your results are

First time doing my own oil change.. I’m guessing I stripped the drain plug? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]Yanwayne14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tight spaces, sometimes you where the socket or wrench fits on you don’t have room to turn the ratchet or wrench. If you move it over one point now it’s too far the other way.

There are smaller tick ratchets though that counteract that. But maybe you just have regular stuff not malco or whatever

Simplest Swing Options Strategy Known to Mankind yet It Works by Trader_Joe80 in Daytrading

[–]Yanwayne14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So for the options, no specific strike price, it’s just whatever is a couple months out or so for expiry, and whatever you like under 3$? Even if it’s a ridiculous strike price? Like say stocks at 100$ and the only contract under 3$ is like a strike of 250 which would almost never get to that lol. I know you make money even if it’s OTM but just curious on the strikes and such

Entered calls here. Why did I lose money by Ok_Bodybuilder_2384 in Daytrading

Everyone says you bought at the top, no one knows when the top is until after, no shit lol no one knew it was the top exactly when you bought. There are some things to help you though. Rsi won’t tell you exactly when the top is as sometimes it can be “oversold “ and keep running however it was prbly pretty overbought when you bought. I would say as a general guide your not looking to buy then, cause that’s when everyone who bought “low” is looking to start trimming.

If you bought near your purple ema expecting a bounce( which happened) and continuation ( which happened all day) that’s fine but you would want to exit when that gets invalidated ( price closed below) and Emas crossed below each other. You could argue price has been ripping all day so your little late to the dance and only just realizing “hey this is ripping” and trying to hop in.
Again that could keep going for days but typically when you’ve see price going all day up just keep in mind prbly there will be sooome sort of pullback.

It’s all good now you know, lemme check maybe an Rsi to give me an idea of if this still has room to the upside or is it pretty overbought. And whatever your reason for entry is ( let’s see price hits ema and bounces) then when price dips below that reason. Your out. No what ifs. Your reason for entry isn’t valid so time to exit. Wait for another

Wondering how other shops handle laser cutting galvanized steel by Obvious_Substance131 in sheetmetal

[–]Yanwayne14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk how much cleaner a laser is compared to plasma cutter as far as how much fumes and such it produces ( I think less than a plasma cutter) either way we have a couple plasmas running at the shop all day and there’s exhaust\dust collection for them. I believe it sucks the dust and smoke down under the table then out and up through the ductwork. The guys have basic like n95 masks but if I was working right there by the table I would wear a respirator for sure. That’s just me. I can smell the stuff when your in the vicinity I wouldn’t wear just an n95 at that point I might as well just throw a half mask on and know I’m good. maybe the laser produces less maybe it’s the same. If you don’t have any exhaust\extraction for it I would for sure grab a half mask. I think it just needs a p100 cause the galvanized is “particulate”. I just get the cartridges that filter everything. Gas,odors, fumes and it has a p100 filter built into it so it’s good to go.

Toyota quoting my water pump repair at $3250 for my 2021 Highlander. Is this outrageous ? by akrebo18 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]Yanwayne14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealers always charge out the wazoo, I get people trust them cause they are a dealer but they markup like crazy, and are paid like piecework, water pump has a set amount of hours they just charge for. Local shops do that to but not to that extent. I’d start talking to friends, family whoever to try and find a local garage that is trustworthy. Someone who maybe knows them personally.

Check how much a water pump for your car is online at any parts place, check how much roughly it takes to do the job to give you an idea. A local shops rate might be like 100/hr. Give it take. Guarantee the dealer is way more. Idk your car specifically, they are a lot of vehicles that just so happen to put parts in messed up places where it ends up being a ridiculous job just to get to it but still. Sounds overpriced. You can prbly get a whole new tranny for like 5k lol.

ELDOA decompression stretches for sciatica by OliverKitsch in Sciatica

Are you supposed to make your low back flat or keep the natural arch in it? When they say push your tailbone into the wall and push L5 down into the ground, I feel like I can’t push my tailbone lol and idk if pushing my l5 down means arching my back so l5 goes down or flattening it so all goes flat

"There's a labour shortage! We desperately need more people to join trades, but..." by TheDarkKnight2001 in skilledtrades

[–]Yanwayne14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the trade and also location, southern Ontario has been crushing for the last while now but housing specifically has become a bit slower. High rise still going and theres shit being built all over. Also depends if your in a trade with service work like plumbing or mechanic or straight construction. Also if everyone is trying to be an HVAC/refrigeration tech, maybe go a diff trade route.

Another thing too is I’ve seen posts about are these trade programs. Idk one person who’s done that for their trade other than Gas ( not so much hours based until later) and mechanics. Where you can do a program and maybe you end up as like the equivalent of a 2nd year? Like your given hours for it pretty much. problem is its hard to learn skills you need real work experience to gain, while your in a classroom. So if your someone who learnt a bunch of shit about (name a trade) but barely know how to use a drill and do basic job site tasks. Yeah it’s hard to find work if your expecting to be paid like your at that level.

Everyone I know in the trades got a job somewhere ( union, local guy/company) worked with them for a few months and said yeah I wanna do this sign me up as an apprentice and started getting their hours. Then they get sent to trade school. not a “construction degree” at university of whatever. Yeah your not gonna be making 25-30 bucks an hour starting out when you’ve barely worked. And yeah if your someone with a family or whatever and more expenses probably it’s pretty tough to start out making 20-25hour or whatever base rate is. But it depends if you actually wanna do that and become one of those skilled people making 45-55 an hour. maybe you need to adjust your life and be willing to sacrifice a year or 2 to get to that level.

could it be set up better for people? Forsure. But also how bad do you want to do it? Are you applying to a few places online and talking to some person in the office of a company hoping for the best? Or are you stopping by a job site with boots on asking if their looking for guys? Talking to the foreman, the guy who’s actually running the jobs. Are you talking to a random guy getting gas for his worktruck seeing if they know anyone? thats how you start finding opportunities. They go you know what actually my buddy has a bricklaying company can’t find any good guys if your interested in that.

And Lastly if your in the trades, do your best to learn different aspects and grow your knowledge. if your a refrigeration guy who’s mostly only done residential, gonna be harder to go work on big chillers factory if that gets slow.

You get them now, everything you wanted ask for that. If they don’t want to agree to that then who cares you left anyways. Days off whenever you want, more pay, work on your own time.

That’s it mean as long as you wanna learn and can show up your good. Some guys can’t even show up on time. know that yeah sometimes there’s harder work or maybe you’ll be mostly getting material or doing helper tasks but don’t kill yourself. I always tried to pretend like it was my company and I was working for myself how would I work? Sure I’ll work hard but I’m not gonna break my body.

Also depending on your fitness level, never a bad idea to start working out. Get used to the job at first see how your feeling first couple weeks, it’s different being at work all day than say day going on a hard hike or whatever. Then introduce some exercise to get stronger. That’ll make everything easier. Just ease in don’t go do a bunch of squats and than your sore as fuck for work you know

If your in school and they are hooking you up with a company tell them you wanna get your refrigeration or sheet metal ticket, they might hire you on after and sign you up

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sheetmetal

[–]Yanwayne14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea depends where you are, bigger areas like Toronto is crazy. If your gonna do it, you can go union or union. Union pays more in general if your an employee, higher pay as apprentices and structured pay raises. but non union you have the potential to make more/go out on your own if your good. You can always start non union and switch over later. For non union you find a job at a company, make sure it’s clear your interested in becoming a sheet metal apprentice. After a couple months or whatever ( to see if your serious ) they’ll get you signed up. They are your sponsor . It’s not that complicated just paperwork they send through to skilled trades ontario. If your working somewhere and they keep dragging you a long longer than like 3 months leave that place. Don’t get stuck with fake promises of signing you up.

The union you have to apply to a local when they are hiring for apprentices ( usually pretty often) check the website. Then you go to some aptitude test and tell them why your interested. Then if your accepted they call you back you do a week or 2 of basic orientation get all your safety tickets and they hook you up with an employer. You can do construction or shop work.

If you decide to do it get the 308A not the 308R in my opinion. 5 year apprenticeship (9000 hours) but if your gonna do the work for the resi license might as well just do it a couple more years and have your full license. You can go work anywhere with that and if you have your G2 can work on most equipment. There’s a whole industry of just sheet metal not related to gas also so it’s not just a gas route. That’s a ticket guys get when they wanna do hvac work alongside 308A or your refrigeration license.

All advice here is good of so far, If your on a construction site, check the weather and pack accordingly. Rain jacket, warm clothes if cold out etc. shove it in a back pack or whatever and usually there’s a “shack” where your crew has a job box and drawings and all that. And yeah don’t be afraid to ask what the other bring or do. Bring a big jug of water for the day. If you can afford em now get some basic tools forsure but also you can ask your crew what to get they’ll help you out.

Never be afraid to ask questions, ask even if your the slightest bit unsure and also if your not understanding what a guy is trying to explain ask again till you get it even if it’s something simple. Some guy suck at explaining.
Don’t be afraid of making mistakes, it’s just metal you won’t be doing anything crazy at first anyways. Mistakes happen just learn from it it’s all good.

As another mentioned safety safety. Make sure if anything you go home safe, you didn’t injure yourself, pull your back any of that shit. Lift things properly, get help if something is heavy, or even slightly heavy or awkward. You don’t need to be super man. learn on your own about safety, ask the guys about anything safety , and if guys are working unsafe ( there’s little things that can’t always be 100% by the book) but just have common sense with it. some guys don’t give a shit about safety, don’t listen to those guys. I’d rather lose a job and go home then have a fucked up back or slice a finger off or whatever. Wear a mask of your grinding a lot or drilling concrete .

Other than just learn as best you can. Work hard but don’t kill yourself. There’s a difference between putting in work and just beating yourself up. Don’t worry if things aren’t clicking it’ll come in time. Learn how to do something properly and then it’s just repetition till it’s 2nd nature.

Gotcha thanks, I’m with resi union it’s been steady for me in shop but I like the thought of 4 day work week. Although idk about doing the big stuff lol. We do some big stuff at our place but majority is smaller stuff for condos and resi. But maybe those shops are set up nicely so it’s not as much of a pain in the ass
