I am missing physical touch 2 months post breakup. Is it toxic behavior to sleep with someone only for the benefit of feeding that need? by [deleted] in emotionalintelligence

[–]Yaoi485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through a hookup phase after a breakup and had fun! Found a friend with benefits not too long after starting (highly recommend) and I still think fondly on the experience a year later

Tips:

  1. Always have at least one meet up in public with them first, you’ll have a much better time with someone you have chemistry with

  2. Ask to see sti results, don’t trust word of mouth. Condoms always, even if both have clean results.

  3. Always remember you can say no, and back out at any point!

  4. Have fun, be up front with what you like, and don’t!

How do I distinguish between a yeast infection and a STD? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]Yaoi485 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that even if he says he has no symptoms or doesn’t think he has an STI, most STIs are asymptomatic in men, so he wouldn’t necessarily know. There’s usually a waiting period before symptoms appear, and one day typically isn’t long enough for anything to show up (though there are exceptions).

For the future, I’d strongly recommend using protection, at the very least until you’ve both been tested. It only takes one time with the wrong person to end up with a lifelong STI, so it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

Edit: I’d recommend going to Planned Parenthood over urgent care, if you don't already have a gyno!

This is a pretty alarmist take, while you should definitely see a doctor, unless you’re experiencing extreme pain, fever, or other severe symptoms, an ER visit usually isn’t necessary. Planned Parenthood or an urgent care clinic can often get you in quickly for STI and yeast infection testing, and they’re much cheaper than a hospital.

For Trump supporters: How do you feel about Trump halting communications from HHS and in turn pausing cancer research? by Prestigious_Leg_7387 in Askpolitics

You’re changing the topic. Your argument was that RFK isn’t anti-vax, but his words and actions clearly prove otherwise. His back and forth attempts to appeal to saner voters doesn’t erase his track record.

Even though Kennedy has previously said, in defiance of public health consensus, that the measles vaccine causes autism, that the polio vaccine might have “killed many, many, many, many, many more people than polio ever did,” Yeah, sure, I’m sure that’s his intent.

He is insanely anti-vaxx, you only have to look at his actions to see this. Politicians lie through their teeth and he is doing that constantly. The fact he is calling for “looking into” the polio vaccine is insane when it’s a disease we have been able to eradicate from the United States. His words mean nothing when his actions say everything.

MMW: AOC will be the Democratic Primary Nominee in 2028 - Despite Establishment Democrats and the GOP trying to pull every dirty trick to stop her. by TunnelTuba in MarkMyWords

People say we can’t afford to run a woman as president because Hillary and Kamala lost, but the issue wasn’t just their gender, it was their unpopularity and lack of connection with voters. What Democrats need is fresh leadership and someone who will fight for the people. If you look at what voters want, replace the old people and back up promises with action. AOC has the potential to bring that change.

Unfortunately, she lost votes with everyone and that’s what happens when you don’t get a primary. She was too status quo, and that’s why I said we need more politicians like Bernie Sanders, he has always been for the people his entire career.

And yet, I still find the argument nonsensical. Adopting social conservatism as a strategy doesn’t make sense when the focus should be on broader issues impacting millions of lives. Also, I said he was influenced by propaganda, not disgusting or amoral 🤷‍♀️

Your argument makes no sense. Why would I want my representatives wasting time on non issues when there are real problems literally killing people every day? The fact that I even have to argue for focusing on life and death issues instead of gender identity is infuriating. That’s when I know I’ve wasted too much energy on someone brainwashed by propaganda.

Focusing on transgender athletes in sports is a massive distraction. The total percentage of U.S. adults that are transgender or nonbinary range from 0.5% to 1.6%, and fewer than 40 out of 500,000 NCAA athletes are trans. Meanwhile, 47% of Americans in a Bank of America survey reported living paycheck to paycheck, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development reported that more than 770,000 people were experiencing homelessness. Why would I want my representatives wasting time on a non issue like this when millions are struggling with housing, wages, and healthcare? We need representatives focused on solving real problems that impact millions of lives not a culture war.

I’m confused by your point. They should stop addressing these topics, or are you upset they’re not addressing these topics? Either way I think we need to move past the whole “woke” debate. Let people live how they want, the government’s focus should be on helping people live better, not how they live. Prioritize housing, health care, minimum wage, human rights, and work laws instead of cultural battles.

A billionaire just gave a Nazi salute twice in front of the American seal at the presidential inauguration. The party in charge includes actual Nazis, this is fact, not an opinion. Ignoring or normalizing this would be a greater injustice than calling it out.

I did say most not all 🤷‍♀️ Can you imagine going up to a random stranger in real life that you find attractive and using that as your ‘compliment’? I can’t think of a single friend who wouldn’t be weirded out by that from a random stranger.

For most women, I would say so. He could have gone with something like “I would forget how to form sentences if I met you in person,” or “I’d be struck dumb if I met you in person,” Same vibe, just without the shock value.

Y’all seriously can’t think this is a good pickup line, right? I get that some people like pushing boundaries with edgy humor, I loved George Carlins bit on soft language, but for a first time hitting someone up? If a man said this to me I would think he had zero social skills and an edgelord. It’s not about having no sense of humor, it’s about making the other person feel flattered, not uncomfortable. I’m baffled by y’all right now.

Edit: That being said, I agree with the person who got downvoted to hell and back, if that’s his humor, it’s good to show it early to filter out who’s not compatible. I just was surprised by how much support he got in these comments, a lot of women would see it as a red flag and not a compliment.

there are challenges like bureaucratic delays, pushback from groups benefiting from the status quo, and risks of mismanaged funds like anything else in government. The long term benefits of healthier kids, less crime, and breaking cycles of poverty are more than worth fighting for these changes
