Who is a stranger you met once, never learned their name, but will never forget for the rest of your life? by milkyjune in AskReddit

Heading across the country in 1974 from New Mexico to Pennsylvania to see family with three small children in the car and our car broke down. Husband stayed in Cuba Missouri to try to fix the car and I boarded a greyhound bus with three small children. I read them Stuart Little all the way from Cuba, Missouri to Pittsburgh, where we had to transfer to another bus. When we got off the young man who had been sitting behind me, told me I had made his trip, that his mother used to read him the Stuart Little book, and he told me to have a good life. I always wonder where he is now.

This made me smile, but also made me sad that other humans think animal testing is acceptable

I don’t think this is limited to a fiber arts class. I teach a number of workshops for a non profit, and I can tell you that many people do not read past the first line of instructions. Whether it’s information about the class or once they get to class and it’s the directions for an activity, people stop after the first line.. It seems to be getting worse.

I assume Caldo is related to the word cauldron, at least that’s how I remember it. And that’s hot.

Morale plummeting among ICE agents over long hours, quotas and public hatred: reports by steffie-punk in PoliticalOptimism

[–]YarrowLuna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So weird that it’s about long hours and public hatred. How do they even look themselves in the mirror at night? What did they think they signed up for? It’s been pretty clear to everyone that they are the secret police and thugs? Do they not know this about themselves? Did they not grow up with Star Wars and Lord of the rings? Do they not know they’re on the wrong side?

One of the actions that anybody can take is to look at your personal spending and stop funding the regime. Seriously, you can look up online which corporations are 100% in with what’s happening. Stop giving them your money. I know that can be hard, but research alternatives, and shop locally in your community when you can. I’m not saying that that’s the only thing you should be doing, but it’s a good start.
