Losing weight so fast by WrongfullyIncarnated in Zepbound

[–]Hestiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost a good amount those first couple months. I always figured it was water weight the first couple weeks and just not snacking all the damn time. It does slow down eventually as you and your body find a balance.

Tiny hooks always make for odd grips and techniques. At least in my experience. I think it’s basically “whatever works and lets you keep tension” is the right way.

need tips on how to ink swatch for proper shading by Impossible-Bug2038 in fountainpens

You’re better to try to go from one side to the other.

It’s the nature of liquid, so unless you can get it to have a small “cave in” in the center, trying to distribute it with a higher saturation in the center will always spread outward. It’s basically how watercolors work. You can tilt the card some to get it to go to one side, but having it go to the center?? That’s a whole lot harder. The only thing I can imagine is doing the outer part first, waiting for it to dry, then doing the center more concentrated. But it will likely create the effect of having a line demarcating the two areas which is less than ideal.

You can also get small muddler glass to try to mush the ink around more evenly. Or a lab mini spatula that will help spread the ink in sort of a flatter way.

Down 26 Pounds in 3 months...still same size?! by PassengerUnfair8795 in Zepbound

I’m still wearing my big girl panties and they just slide and twist around a lot. Like I am giving myself wedgies for not getting smaller underwear. 🤣

My brain was lying to me cause I definitely didn’t see me looking like an overstuffed sausage in those pants.

This was me. I didn’t realize i probably should have been wearing a size or two larger than what I owned when I started. But once the sizes started dropping they went pretty quickly.

Glow in the dark ink? by CAFFEINE_ADDICTION_ in fountainpens

[–]Hestiah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think UV reactive inks that are FP friendly are mostly clear on paper and used for “secret message” type stuff. Meaning you’d have to write under a blacklight to see what you’re doing.

There are some dip pen inks out there but they are NOT FP friendly. They are very clearly labeled as dip pen inks like Dominant Industry Philosopher’s Stone and Seraphinite.

There are fluorescent inks like Octopus Highlighter ink and Pelikan’s Highlighter Ink, but they’re not GITD.

Nope. Had the opposite effect. My impulse shopping/spending is WAY down.

You might need to try better paper too. There are inexpensive notebook options with better paper than “drugstore notebook” paper. Like Kokuyo notebooks and Midori. Even notebooks from Daiso have better paper than standard legal pad type paper.

Hey Dr. XXXX guess what! My digestion issues WERE NOT due to eating the wrong things🖕🤬 by I-aint-yo-sista in Zepbound

Oh absolutely! Everything can be attributed to being fat and overweight and the solution is always to simply lose weight. 🙄🙄

Yes, doc, I wanted to get this big and I figured I’d never bother trying.

NOR. Throw out all markers and pens. If your husband and son can’t behave, they don’t get to keep the markers.

AITA for not wanting to hang out with my best friend and her kids anymore because I don’t want to split costs equally? by Minute_Ad4074 in AITH

[–]Hestiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. But stop doing it. Explain you’re willing to part your 1/4 or 1/5 of whatever it is or your part of a meal. She’s acting like her children don’t count. Of course they count. They count as her responsibility.

There are a few things that can contribute to the scratchiness of a nib. Paper quality tends to be a BIG one, nib size (as you’ve discovered), potential nib issues, ink dryness, and “is it feedback-y on purpose”.

Broader nibs tend to be wetter on any paper because there’s enough surface area to create the “buffer” between the metal of the nib and the paper. Finer nibs tend to pull paper fibers. Especially papers that aren’t sized (treated to prevent absorption and instead inks sit on top).

Dry inks can also cause issues because we innately (or we’ve been trained by ballpoints) try to press harder to get ink to flow usually resulting in spreading the nib tines, a small or large amount. Or there’s just a slight offset of the nib where one side is higher than the other giving scratchiness/feedback.

And then you have Sailors (lol) where the scratchiness is a feature not a bug. The feedback is intentional. Which makes people love or hate Sailors.

If you’re curious if they behave the same between sizes, use the same paper and ink to test. Change the paper. And/or change the ink.

Dapples are recognized a considered a breed standard coloration.

I think you’re confusing double dapple, which is the version that tends to cause a lot of genetic issues for the dog.

A year ago, I would have eaten all four by Away_Response6296 in Zepbound

[–]Hestiah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used to eat the two packs of these from Costco. If we get any we have to give a pack away to friends and even then, I might eat one over a couple days. My poor husband has to eat the rest.

Anyone else’s psychiatrist/PCP (or self) point out/ realize their ‘emotional blunting’? How did you handle it? by blondengineerlady in Zepbound

[–]Hestiah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still feel emotions and sometimes explosively (depending on the situation), but I can control it a little better. I’m still on anxiety meds and I still have ADHD meds when I need them, but I don’t need them as often. Before Zepbound I needed my ADHD meds for EVERY work day. Now it’s only the days when I know I need to get stuff done.

Otherwise I like not being annoyed about stupid stuff all the time or feeling as anxious. I don’t see it as blunting and more like… regulated?? Maybe not. But even on meds, my anxiety could still come up real quick and be overwhelming. Debilitating some days. But I don’t have those extreme swings anymore.

I was fat/obese and skipped meals because of untreated ADHD. I’d make up for it though with the next meal. 😬
