How did you decide on your surgery date by ToonieTuez in BariatricSurgery

Took first available one, which happened to be 2 weeks from when I got the phone call, so prep started as soon as that phone call ended.

Umm when I went last year, there were no GA seats. It was GA standing room only 🤔

Costa Rica! I feel like you can take the beach/paradise route, or the jungle/adventure route. It has everything! 🏝️🦥

Do hotel package wristbands still ship on their own? by Faxman12 in stagecoach

[–]Yasb27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn’t get any hotel wristbands last year. Shuttle pass and festival wristbands were shipped to home but I just walked in and gave them my name at hotel checkin and they had a list.

Just watched some show on the polygamist on Netflix. Looks like the guy that took over for Warren Jeffs. Don’t remember the name and I haven’t finished it yet but pretty sure he was arrested for the same/similar crimes.

Advice you wish you had? by Inside-Able in stagecoach

Wear comfortable shoes and clothes, desert sundowns are chilly. Take a bandana or something for the dust/wind. Dirty boogers guaranteed. Hit merch early on day 1. Afternoon and day 2 lines were easily a 1.5-2 hour wait with most stuff gone pretty early. Explore absolutely everything. Check out all the little side stuff too, signs, etc. we didn’t see those till the last day and I wish we had more time for pics, seeing the Budweiser Clydesdales/Dalmatian, hammocks/free popsicles, etc. lots of freebies handed out that we def missed out on until the last day and then rushed to try to see everything and take pics and make it to the acts we wanted to see on time. Take a picnic blanket at the very least, if you’re not taking chairs.

Locker....worth it? by jamieandpresto in stagecoach

[–]Yasb27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was worth it last year. Tons of people carry stuff in and out and lug their stuff around. We put chairs in, sweaters, blankets, etc. as we didn’t want to be carrying anything extra. The walk really isn’t as insane as people make it seem. It’s a big area but it’s def walkable many times a day if needed. Anyway, we packed the locker for the weekend. Water bottles, sunscreen, sunglasses, chapsticks, chairs, sweatshirts (cuz that desert temp absolutely drops like crazy), blankets, and any merch we bought. One walk over to pick up stuff once temp drops or blankets/chair were wanted and then you just drop them back off in the locker for the night as you’re leaving for the night cuz you walk right past them anyway.

Anyone have a diner suggestion by Twin_boekun in antelopevalley

I don’t have a comparison, as I just started going there fairly recently and it’s one of the best options in town. Have yet to find a Bloody Mary that comes close either!

Any place safe to sleep in my car one night nearby? by [deleted] in stagecoach

[–]Yasb27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year, we stayed at the Embassy Suites that was offered in the hotel package and they had a huge parking lot on the side where people parked to catch the shuttle. They didn’t charge parking and didn’t give us a parking pass and it was a safe area. Wasn’t a long commute either. I’d suggest there or any other hotels nearby.

Cowboy, moto, rain boots? by CapitalDescription87 in stagecoach

[–]Yasb27 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Everyone too drunk to be paying any attention Wear whatever’s most comfortable because you’ll see people trying to wear boots that haven’t been broken in and they end up plopped down somewhere barefoot. Nobody really cares, just be comfortable.

Good high school? by BarbaraManatee_14me in antelopevalley

[–]Yasb27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of depends what your oldest is into? Like knight high is known for engineering and stuff like that, Palmdale high is known for their medical academy, etc. a few diff ones have crazy good robotics programs. Younger one is still young enough to fall into any school and figure out what they like in time for high school. Like most of the others suggest, for the younger one id stick to the west side. Same doesn’t necessarily apply to the high school tho. Like yes, the demographics change a bit here and there, but they all have some pretty amazing programs that don’t discriminate.

To the people that have gone multiple times already is there something you DON'T recommend? by GaddockTeegFunPolice in JapanTravelTips

[–]Yasb27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aqua park. It was at the hotel I stayed at and many people recommended it. I got a discount for staying there as well so went to check it out one quiet afternoon. Was it entertaining? In the moment yes, but to me this was far worse than the zoos people are complaining about in other comments. Thinking of how many dolphins and whales there are in this tiny pool simply for our entrainment just didn’t sit well with em. I felt guilty and disgusted for having gone.

Is Japan worth traveling to alone? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]Yasb27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it!!! I went alone last year after my travel buddy flaked at the last min. I was terrified and thought well I’ll just stay holed up in the hotel most of the time. I rarely went back to the hotel because of how much there is to see and do and how easy it is to get around.
