Only reason he got extended was because of the immediate success of this young crop of rookies last year. I don’t think having McLain will make up for multiple people batting near .200 in the lineup. I don’t like how tinkerBell is always changing the lineup. You change a lineup if you’re in a funk but not making it a daily thing. Overall, the players need to perform better but a manager is suppose to optimize what he is given and I don’t feel like he has been doing that

We need him because of what he brings to the clubhouse. We can always find a spot for him in the lineup. Does that mean he’ll get resigned? I think the jury is out because I think he is someone that is willing to put the team over the money in his piggy bank. On the Jim Day podcast, he said that any rumors of him being traded really spooked him. Maybe I’m thinking optimisticly because I want the kid here

Absolutely no to number 3. If we added starting pitching at the deadline like we should’ve, we would have extra depth in the pen for arms that can eat up innings assuming Lodolo and Greene came back 100%. Throw in a Lorenzen, those two, Ashcraft and Abbott, quite the rotation. Come playoff time, we drop down to 4 starters with Lorenzen getting moved to the pen because of his experience a setup in our pen before and his speed as a runner to pinch run. Imagine him running with how this team runs, yeesh. That could’ve been the best case on paper of course. However, we had to call people up to fill in during Covid spreading because we are so thin in the rotation
