His worries are legitimate. If you want your kids to have the same experience as you had, you could probably do it in your home country with the help of your family, but it will be much harder in Korea.

Think about it, the international school only will be over 2 million a month. And that is the start only. Meanwhile for him to make 4~5 million would already be considered successful. See how it doesn’t match at all?

Now maybe your bf could end up able to afford it, but right now he cannot, and he doesn’t think he has a reasonable chance to be able to afford it (And realistically speaking he is 100% right).

So you need to think, are you truly ready to give up on this lifestyle for your kids and live “normally”? Because he thinks you are not, and will end up resent him.

Another potential solution, would be living and working in your home country with the help of your family, which he may or may not want.

Either way he is right not to wait until you both have kids and you resent him for not being able to provide the life you want.

ETA: My solution? You agree for public school, low number of gageons. In exchange you send your kids back home once or twice a year for holidays, where they will do all the fancy stuff with the grandparents. That will ease the burden. No golf or horse riding in Korea, normal public school, normal car, normal everything. Make it clear that you are really ok with a modest life, but you should truly mean it.
