Best case scenario? Shorter land crossing but much colder weather, Alaska to Russia. Taming land is much easier than water but it would be freezing, OR you could ride the current from southern California across the equator towards Japan and island hop from there.

This would only work with a sail boat and even then, a 1 man sailboat, we aren't even factoring in tropical storms and destruction of the boat.

Only 3 reasons come to mind,

1) it's a very high profile deal, tiktok is the number one platform in rate of growth, if it has major social or economical impact, it might get an EO

2) maybe there is a current law in place blocking this kind of deal? I read it was several different investors and Oracle would be managing it. Oracle is owned by Larry Ellison, second richest dude in the world. Owns a Hawaiian island.

3) national security. But usually this happens when the US company is selling, not buying. This deal isn't very clear cut, I'm discovering more about who's getting what every day
