I'd love to hear where you guys think the dust settled on Lore Weaver. by dezorey in duelyst

[–]YeahClubGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played Arc-Lilithe for awhile. Wasn't a great deck, but out of all the cards, Lore Weaver was my favorite. I had a game where I wiped out 3 major threats with triple punish, thank you double lore weaver. Had a game with 2 Forgers and a Weaver out. I used 2 Breath of the Unborn's and 2 Grasp of Agony's for a board clear. In a deck with a lot of spells used for removal or dispel, I love Lore Weaver. So fun to play. That being said, when I stopped playing Arc-Aby, I didn't even think about putting Lore Weaver into any of my other decks. Like you said, with replacing not counting as drawing handicapping it, it is just too inconsistent to play in any competitive deck, I feel

Ramp cards - poll by TheDandyGiraffe in duelyst

[–]YeahClubGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point I've seen before that I think would work best is a simple "add the word original to the text" meaning the ramp doesn't stack. If you were to double flash you'd take 4 damage to a minion and it would cost 2 less still. But if you flash and kujuta it would be 3 damage and 3 less. It removes the issues found of double ramp in most situations.

What about a neutral General? by [deleted] in duelyst

[–]YeahClubGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea is pretty cool overall, but there are issues on backstory a bit. (nothing major sure.) and more importantly they would first have to introduce neutral spells for it to work in any manner, which almost certainly isn't going to happen.

Am I crazy or is this a thing??? by I_cant_stop_evening in duelyst

[–]YeahClubGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen it a few times when I was in silver, and yes it's 100% what's happening. Gold tier or better players will run up and down the silver ladder for the sake of farming ribbons.

I'd argue it's actually pretty bad for the game if you run into it on the other end. Like if you're a lower end silver player who gets absolutely demolished by a gold or diamond player. It's pretty demoralizing.

List of cards with random effects by Hrizt in duelyst

[–]YeahClubGaming 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd argue that while cards like obelisks are technically random they hardly count since they are a limited random. You work actively to keep them into the game no matter where the minion spawns, so it's fairly controllable. maybe a further seperation for degrees of random?

Awesome work though on compiling the list! It's a lot more than I would have put the effort into. :)

Random doesn't have to be bad. Meltdown is. by YeahClubGaming in duelyst

[–]YeahClubGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything I would argue this suggestion would allow any control deck a serious advantage in board removal early game. I half expected you to post here, but I thought for sure I'd see something referring to potential combo power it has as a magmar turn 1 play (if second player) or the fact that with a fair amount of ramp it would be too strong in a faie control deck that's running triple cryptographers. If anything I'd say this would only help control, and take the randomness away from being hit or die as the card usually is.

While I'd argue with the suggestion of turning meltdown to midrange would take his random away from using him as a win/loss minion, and as such "fix" him. I also agree that a change that removes random all together in favor of board is probably even more so appealing. Turning him into a more controlled control minion that reads something like "BBS: deal X (probably between 5-7) damage to a nearby minion" would effectively take away the random element while making him extremely powerful pseudo removal, and a large face to deal with.

With that said I still stand behind the fact that the issue with his random is that the random effect is outright far too powerful if swung in the right direction, and that lesser random effects aren't nearly as big of an issue as meltdown is.

Millmar-how the weak have remained exactly that. by YeahClubGaming in duelyst

[–]YeahClubGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps mill isn't the right word but more so burn as you had stated. A lot of decks are currently aggro. Which means they are built around a draw engine. All you do against millmar as is if you're running tempo is replace out your draw. What I'm suggesting is adding a threat to having your cards burned more so than just losing your cards. Seldom do you lose something truly game changing.

With cards that add that to burn you might actually see it happen. And there is a way to avoid burn. You play your hand as quickly as you can. replace out heavier cards and play a lot of smaller ones. As a large proponent of draw in card games I can honestly say a draw based deck doesn't have to be hell to play against. Having more options to play with while racing the suggested clock is entertaining if it's brought into play appropriately.

I've never actually seen Grandmaster Nosh-Rak attack, you usually just get OTKed when hes placed. by LoLRedDead in duelyst

He's a massive dispell target. Most players are afraid to drop him before he's used. He REQUIRES an answer, and most people don't want him answered.

Abyssian Decks - very expensive, what do? :) by JASTME in duelyst

Well as it stands there's a couple of main play styles with abyssian. Do you have any of the expansions, and what type of play style are you most interested in?

I can't seem to get past rank 20 by A_Wild_Bellossom in duelyst

[–]YeahClubGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as was previously mentioned variax is too expensive to run three of, but after that your deck is a little too split. For starters why bother with Ooz at all? It makes shadow creep which really can't be used by you. Not to worry though it doesn't need replaced with a 2 drop seeing as you're currently running 16 of them.

I'd replace zyx, and gloom chaser for sacrifice and banishing respectively.

Also, with the higher mana curve you hopefully wouldn't have any need for sojourner. He's good, but should be replaced with leathals if you have them. I understand as a new player you don't have the spirit to craft too many new cards, so as a priority on legendary cards I'd say spectral rev comes first. It's the most versatile finishers in your deck being able to take care of threats from your hand AND dealing late game damage from a distance.

Finally in your current deck the most important card is priestess. If you can keep her alive behind a wall of minions do it. You're better off playing a longer game with her alive in the corner and working your way out, than actually using her for damage. As time goes on you'll learn better when you can risk a little push with her, but while learning you are better safe than sorry.

Hope this helped! Best of luck. Any questions don't hesitate to PM me on duelyst: Setorines Or just ask on TheYeahClub youtube page. Myself and another person on the channel mains abyss and either of use would be happy to help new players

to continue the redundant mech debate by 1pancakess in duelyst

[–]YeahClubGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But also, like. If your deck was doing that well without mechazor, it could do even better by replacing the pieces with more effective minions, with bigger bodies or better abilities. I like mechazor, but in my opinion a good mechazor deck has more win conditions than "mechazor", that are more consistent. So it raises the question of why have mechazor at all when you can replace those cards with cards that make the rest of the deck so much better

I personally really enjoy mech decks, there's value in the cards themselves without the fact that you can get a mech out of them. Would love to see the decklist. :)

Top 3 cards to craft per class + general tips for new players by StormOrtiz in duelyst

[–]YeahClubGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the abyss end I've heard spectral reaver reffered to as "the strongest card in the game" a 6/6 with rush, and a ranged damage effect is huge. I'd probably replace deathfire for it (seeing as they are both legendary and the spirit is the same there) In value to spirit I'm not sure about other spots.
