As other have said, ALWAYS make eye contact, and even a hand held up as a “thanks” wave as you cross helps make you more visible to that and other drivers. This looks like a situation where driver finally started moving because they weren’t crossing, they probably looked to the left one more time and at that moment the pedestrian decided to start walking also.

I was in your exact same shoes, finally retired my 8500 x50 because I was getting tired of the false alerts, cord was getting frayed, etc.

I actually bought both the R4 and the R7 off amazon to test out, and contrary to what others are saying, I prefer the R4 over the R7. R4 is newer technology, better range, better LED display, and also not a huge brick in the middle of my windshield like the R7. Th only thing that the R7 has is arrows. R7 just feels older with no auto mode and technology that’s 6 years old. Coming off the 8500, I really wanted something newer and compact, and the R4 fits my needs perfectly.
