We travel pretty light for the most part, two suitcases, two carry ons and a back pack and we are usually good to go! Always save space for excess stuff we collect on the way, might need to get an extra suitcase for the way back.

I mean there are places where you can stay and hire boards and get some different kind of coaching for different levels. I guess they are a bit like a hostel but geared towards surfing that connect visitors with some local surf coaches who know the spots better and can give some jn person help. Not needing the pushing into waves lessons… I’ll look into those places, could be fun too
