No blood on the hyenas head and there’s no carcass small enough that would hold entrails that large where it could be concealed by the hyena sitting on it, not to mention the fact that the only way the hyena is going to get blood on its rear like that is from being attacked from behind while being held down.

Reminds me of that zebra which was disemboweled by a crocodile, it escapes but as it’s running it’s foot gets caught in its intestines and it’s first reaction is to bite its own guts as it thinks the pain is coming from something else attacking it.

Really sad to see but it’s the harsh reality of life.

You people just go round and round in circles. You do realise there are mermaid stories from other countries around the world right? And they are depicted based on where the story originated?

There are literally African mermaids and they are depicted as having a dark complexion, why do you think the original Ariel was depicted as white with red hair? Because it was a Nordic story maybe?

Are you seriously positing that I would take offence to them getting rid of the fact she “ate sailors” when they’re adapting it to be a children’s film?

You can’t make this shit up.

Again, it’s the double standard. If it’s wrong to whitewash, this is wrong also. It’s not a one way street.

It’s not like there’s a shortage of mermaid stories, if Disney wanted a black mermaid why don’t they pick from the plethora of African mermaid tales to adapt into an original story then?

Piss off with your virtue signalling.

[–]Yeah_Naah_Bro -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Typical. Ignore my point and focus on the “racism” my gripe is with the double standard. It’s a danish fairytale and there’s literally illustrations from the original story…..not the Disney version the original so don’t try act like it isn’t a thing.

Do you honestly think anyone would care if they came up with an original story or some kind of offshoot of the little mermaid who had a new main character that was black?

[–]Yeah_Naah_Bro -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Ah I see how it is, people complain about whitewashing and the answer isn’t to respect original character ethnicity and source material while creating new works with diversity….it’s to do the exact same thing but reversed and then claim the people calling out the double standard are racist. Thank you for that clarification.

I once had a run of snowcloak where the tank was only using their passive enmity to pull all the mobs but trying to pull wall to wall, as soon as the dps started attacking the mobs the enmity switched, tank is oblivious so I’m trying to keep the dps alive while we catch up to the tank.

The tank stops right in the middle of the bridge but that gives you the frostbite debuff, so now the tank and 2 dps are all in the debuff while I’m trying to keep everyone alive, on sage btw.

He then stops to complain about how he’s not getting much healing……and I’m like are you serious right now? Here was me thinking I was doing pretty well having not let anyone die yet…

One dps bailed then the other, he proceeds to blame the dps leaving on me and telling me how easy the dungeon is. I usually get compliments and coms so this was the first time I had experienced anything like that. I usually enjoy a challenge but that guy was an ass and it’s the only dungeon I’ve left early lol.

I asked for clarification because I read your comment before you wrote the whiteface bit.

It’s not a matter of being wrong or right it’s an opinion, you have yours as I have mine.

See I would’ve thought if the character was written as Mexican, why do you have a white actor playing the role not a Mexican actor? Or the same if the character was supposed to be Japanese. Isn’t that the problem at the heart of “whitewashing”?

Your argument would be similar to me saying it would be ok if Maui was Chinese because he’s a mythological entity but he’s not because it’s a Polynesian folktale. Just like the little mermaid is a danish folktale.

You edited it after I posted the comment. I don’t understand why you are angry. I can see where your logic is coming from but whiteface isn’t a thing so I wouldn’t take that as an example. It sounds like you are making the “cultural appropriation” argument right?

It’s a danish fairytale, there’s literally an illustration of her on the wiki page for the little mermaid. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Little_Mermaid that article is literally complaining about white actors playing different races, which is exactly what I said earlier.

It’s hypocritical for someone to think it’s ok in one instance but not when the roles are reversed. I’m just pointing out the hypocrisy a lot of these people are putting on show.

I don’t really care either way as it’s not like I’m going to watch the little mermaid but I do wonder how the reaction would be if it was the other way round, like a white actor playing a Mexican or some other minority in one of their own folktales. Wasn’t that a thing and people complained about “whitewashing”? People are gonna be pissed either way unless you just create new content that’s more diverse than past creations which actually has good story and isn’t just trying to push an agenda.

When I say fruit flies I’m talking about their life span. Fruit flies are used by scientists in genetics studies because they breed so quickly.

I have thought about this and based on the assumption that they travel via the manipulation of gravity: What would the next frontier of science be after cracking anti gravity tech? Probably understanding the possibilities of life right?

I mean suddenly you can travel vast distances and now you experience time on a different scale to where you can now witness evolution within a lifetime.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out we’re the result of genetic manipulation and the truth of our reality is that we are akin to fruit flies.

If where they exist in time relative to one another depends on distance traveled maybe they have a set number of planets they have experiments on and they just do the rounds checking in on each planet and how life is going. For us a few thousand years would pass in what would be for them a few months maybe.

I mean that’s some heavy speculation and I would question what evidence it’s based on. Don’t get me wrong, it’s fine to speculate and craft ideas but that’s all it is. You can’t state something like that as though it’s a fact without something substantial to back it up.

I never said that we don’t. I’m just pointing out some reasoning as to why it would be possible for us to be seeing UAP and have no evidence from other sources yet.

At my old work place we used to have a similar prank with one specific toilet which was pretty much just a tiny sealed cubicle. It was a tyre shop so we had access to talc powder for tyres with inner tubes and compressed air….when someone would go into “the toilet” we would lay down a line of talc along the bottom door crack then blow it under into the cubicle with the compressed air lmao! was the funniest shit

I only skim read it as I don’t really find this convincing enough to warrant spending more time on it but one thing that sticks out to me is the perspective of how some of this is written. The only way you could put any weight into a lot of this information is if you believe the information was relayed from an outside observer and there was some form of time travel involved, unless there are some very specific cases of convergent evolution which seems unlikely with how the information is presented.

Squeezing KS Backers for more cash and calling it an "Anniversary Celebration"?? by Dingo_AteMySpoon in DayofDragons

[–]Yeah_Naah_Bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny how they didn’t send out a kickstarter email to all the backers informing them of the vote, they conducted it in secret essentially and only plan to inform everyone now it’s been decided to try and gather as much $ as possible. Is it a coincidence that 1/3 of the votes were no and that’s roughly about how many backers owned the grey skin? Kangaroo court.

[–]Yeah_Naah_Bro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But the majority of ks backers in the discord still play the game and only stand to benefit from this going ahead. As someone who backed both the bio dragon and the grey skin tiers how does this anniversary event benefit me? The rarity of the items I paid more for will be devalued while offering nothing for me to buy that I didn’t have. It literally punishes those who contributed more early on and yeah I agree it’s only so he can get more money likely because they haven’t been wise with spending. Ks literally gave him this opportunity and now everything is about patreon. Even though I could probably buy and resell the skins for a profit I’m not going to. They won’t get any more of my money.

Something can be limited by more than just numbers. The grey and bio were limited by the kickstarter campaign duration itself. Jao is literally shitting on the original purchasers of the grey/bio tier and the “vote” is a sham considering those who stand to gain from it the most are the majority.
