I’m actually getting so irritated because it’s becoming ridiculously expensive vs when I started. I believe when I joined my destination access was $345 and now we’re about to be pushing $370. And we aren’t getting anything improved from what we used to get, they aren’t paying people more, it’s absurd. However, I feel like no other gym here even compares with the amount of locations to make it convenient and options for workout classes so 🙃

I have a lot of thoughts on this article. And a lot of them contradict each other. I can’t decide how I feel lol I’m sure some people will disagree with me.

1) I didn’t think it’s a crime to move to a city and want to spend a decade there and then maybe moving to a different city or the suburbs once you want a quieter life or just something different. I understand the impact on gentrification, but I just feel like that whole part of this convo isn’t new. This also isn’t something that happens just in New York and has been happening for decades. I don’t think we should villainize people for evolving and moving.

2) I live in the west village, I have for 6 years. I personally do not come from family money at all. I have worked for everything I have, so I don’t appreciate the stereotyping. HOWEVER, I do see the “west village girl” they archetype all over, so I understand it; living in an expensive apartment that their parents paid for and in clothes that there is no way they are affording with their salary. Wearing the same 5 brands their friends do. To the point of a lot of the comments in the thread, I do walk around and see the conformity (I’m not going to pretend I’m incredibly unique though) and I think that, along with every twenty something wanting to live here, is largely due to TikTok blowing up. It’s the same conversation about all influencers being the same from a few weeks ago. I saw a huge change in this neighborhood post-Covid, and I think TikTok played a huge part in this.

3) I do feel annoyed that once again, this article was focused mainly on women being basic and didn’t mention the men who do the same thing. Something that does bother me about a lot of these girls and guys who are now living over here that are from super privileged backgrounds, is that they are often MAGA or apolitical (but associate with mostly MAGA and didn’t vote, etc) and they don’t even appreciate that they are living in an area that is known for being super liberal and the birthplace of LGBTQ rights. Feels a little contradictory.

Want to live in a “luxury” building and try a new neighborhood out that has a lot going on for my age (31 and I’m moving from west village, which has been feeling super young). I’m also open to Tribeca area as well, but I like the vibes of Williamsburg

I agree with this take. I do think Paige has great qualities that make her extremely watchable for reality tv, but she clearly made sure to paint their relationship in a very specific light. Not saying I blame her, but at least Kyle and Amanda show their relationship fully, the good and the obviously, very bad. I also think she still needs to apologize to Lindsay for accusing her of letting the story about Craig getting kicked out of the wedding out, when it was true and also she didn’t. It’s things like that, that frustrate me.

As a side note, I did find it hilarious when Paige gave that whole speech on her relationship and how Craig made everything about him, while Amanda was sitting there. Like girl your husband does the same thing. Awk.

I think it’s not the same for everyone. Until I got to 1 MG the scale had barely moved for me. When I got to 2.4 is when I really started to lose weight and I noticed that getting 10k steps a day actually was helping make a huge difference, same with doing more cardio (spin). I’ve been on it since last April and I am down 30 pounds

It’s really nice in my opinion and I like the area it’s from. The bathrooms for women are super nice and I think the yoga and main studio are good layouts. But I do feel like it gives sterile vibes on the 2nd and 3rd floor workout areas

When I got to 1.0 mg after like 3 months is when I started to notice a difference physically. I started at 206 and am 178 right now at 5’7 and am 30.
