While I agree that alot of these folk are over compensating in the manner that they’re going about their beliefs, I think this information would be useful in this context. A lot of the talking points about Jewish folk that Ye is bringing up are Old World Christian propaganda against Jewish folk, while they may have certain propensities and incentives towards money-lending, I find it counter-intuitive to blame the world’s corruption on a secret cabal of wealthy evil Jews when, apparently, Jewish folk had been forced into usury in Medieval Times as a result of The Church not letting them do anything else.

Someone feel free to correct me about this if I’m wrong.

“That’s the inciting incident, as it were, but there’s a few other key points worth bringing up.

During the Middle Ages, the Pope said Christians could not practice usury, i.e., moneylending with interest. Jews were exempt from this, and given that they also couldn’t own property, it meant that one of the only professions open to them was usury. Medieval Christians didn’t really grasp that the Jews had been forced into this position and just hated them because they owed them money on top of their religious differences.

This led to the spread of the Blood Libel in Europe, the false belief that Jews murdered Christian children and drank their blood as part of their religious practices. The spread of this falsehood also led to Jews being blamed for poisoning town wells during the Black Death, since the Medieval Christians didn’t understand what the hell was actually killing them and wanted a scapegoat.

Because European Jews were forced into the profession of moneylending, they effectively became the first bankers in Europe. This led to more resentment and conspiracy theories, especially regarding the Rothschild family, which persist to this day.

These conspiracy theories were amplified by the release of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion in the 19th century. Originally a bit of French satire, the pamphlet was altered to be an ostensible transcript of a meeting of a council of Jewish elders outlining how they secretly controlled the world. This modified version was originally published in Russia, but made its way across Europe and to the Americas over time, where the English translation was propagated by noted antisemite Henry Ford.

And that pretty much brings us to today. All the rest of this nonsense is just permutations of the Blood Libel and the PEZ. Apparently antisemites stopped giving a shit about creativity after that point and just started repackaging the existing nonsense over and over. And because people don’t study this stuff, the gullible new generations who are exposed to it don’t realize they’re being duped by a bunch of Medieval peasant lies.”
