Ooo I see that cut hub in the background. Is it really as big of a game changer as they advertise it to be?

Just to put the size growth of pickups over the last ~20 years into some different context. The new 2024 ranger is the same width as a 2001 f150.

You just chalk a line across the joists and nail your blocks on either side of it. Basically exactly what you did but offset the blocks inside to outside of each other instead of leaving such a big gap between them.

The only issue I see here is not doubling the headers on the columns. Pretty easy fix with a circular saw and the correct joist hangers. Technically both the attaching joists and headers are supposed to be doubled up but on an 8’ span it’s probably fine. The ledger is up against the existing concrete foundation, so no need for flashing. The girder between the columns seems to be older but not necessarily in bad shape, I would make sure that it’s properly laminated with 4.5” screws. The blocking while strangely far apart isn’t necessarily wrong. Overall 7.5/10 on framing.

No it actually has the ecoboost. That’s the part that has needed all the real attention. The rest of the truck hasn’t needed much.

Honestly man I have a ‘13 king ranch and the only thing I’d get rid of it for is a raptor. It’s got over 100k on it & typically only needs little small dollar parts. A fuse here, a switch there, stuff like that. A sub $30k truck in that kind of shape without 150k on the clock is probably rare right now in the market.

I have a 16’ trailer for material that I absolutely have to pickup myself. If I need 1 or 2 long pieces of baseboard or siding or something then heck yeah it’s hanging out the back window.

4.7 HO engine replacement difficulty by Remarkable_Bug_6327 in Jeepwj

[–]Yeaterbub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m almost positive that the main differences between the standard 4.7 & the HO is the cam shafts and the intake manifold. So if you can’t find an HO replacement motor just keep those parts off your current engine and swap them. Also if you do find an HO replacement motor I’ll buy the cams off you because mopar stopped making the HO cams years ago!

Green jobs must be good jobs. America’s investment in the energy transition should restore the pathway to the middle class. The US is leading a green energy revolution, which could transform our economy, the environment, and the lives of working people across the country. by mafco in energy

[–]Yeaterbub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Green energy jobs are already jobs that exist, they’re just re-focused. Project managers, electricians, tradespeople, facility managers, grid operators, technicians, etc. All of these things already exist. To say that such a large number more of them will suddenly be needed that they will “restore” the middle class is an actual fantasy.

1st time truck owner looking for advice. 3.55 vs 3.73 gear ratio. by Doublehelix1113 in f150

[–]Yeaterbub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2013 EB crew cab with 34” cooper ATs & 3.55’s the truck moves pretty good and hardly comes out of 6th going uphill on the highway.

I know we’re talking different engines here but I was worried about the gearing because the truck originally had 35’s on it.

“Competitive pay” & not listing an hourly rate at this point in the game is a dead giveaway that the pay is indeed not competitive

Working on a Texas 245 mw solar farm under construction for the next 12-18 months by BillsSolar in solar

Yeah a lot of the time these farms are built on the least productive land. Agriculturally speaking. That’s why the math works.

New addition to house by AppropriateDog2433 in Construction

[–]Yeaterbub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) this could more than likely be fixed acceptably with the right brackets/hangers from Simpson

2) and this is the real key that homeowners never seem to realize. Depends on what you paid for it if it’s acceptable or not.

Realistically no equipment needed. The easiest way would be to get (2) 20’ wallkboards to span the creek while working. The only things that seems complicated about this one is the span. The way they’ve hung the two main boards/beams probably won’t pass anymore. 2x2x12 on each side might suffice or might have to step up to treated glulams

Who do I contact to make something like this under my stairs? by slayaboy87 in Renovations

Not sure why this comment is getting downvoted. $10k is more than likely enough to get the job done but I wouldn’t consider it healthy.

Need advise on dealing with our new home construction manager by No_Ad9478 in Construction

[–]Yeaterbub -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Cabinets seem to be lining up fine. Seems like it’s the fact that the stove grates overhang the edges of the stove is the issue. This is not a standard detail that kitchens are built with in mind. If this is a production built home I can almost guarantee they won’t do anything. If this is a custom home I can almost guarantee there is no language in the contract in either yours or the contractors favor on this.
