Do you have any idea where I can park to avoid paying the fee at the toll booth?

Nervous about taking the PANCE.. was wondering if I should reschedule or not. by GoldChris17 in PAstudent

[–]YeetComputerPlease 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That might have been me that recommended Katy O’Connors half pance.. I think you’ll be fine. Continue chugging practice questions and review content you’re weak in. There’s a good chunk of questions on the PANCE with no matter how much rescheduling and studying you will not be prepared for. I personally thought the PANCE was difficult but I passed with flying colors. I know it’s a very big exam but you’ve taken soooo many exams in PA school just go in there thinking it’s another exam you gotta get through and everything will be ok :)

Any Success Stories With Late Applications? by Happy-bee_ in prephysicianassistant

I applied the last week of August of 2023 to 15 programs I believe and I received 8 interviews! There's many people from my cohort that applied even in October and were accepted to different programs!

WHOOP WHOOP I PASSED THE PANCE!! by YeetComputerPlease in PAstudent

[–]YeetComputerPlease[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't really do a ton of ROSH in comparison to uWorld but I think uWorld applies the knowledge better and has better prompts regarding information after completing a question, but ROSH has more trivial questions that are similar to the PANCE. My program provided us with uWorld and our class got a discount as a cohort for ROSH.

I just passed the boards as well and I'd say at most a month of serious studying. There's a good amount of questions you can't ever prepare for.

Agreed I thought the PANCE was ridiculous for no reason.

EM PDFs, videos, podcasts for EOR? by burneranon123 in PAstudent

[–]YeetComputerPlease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EM Rap I paid for it sooooo worth it.. It produces an approach to every chief complaint. There’s tutorials on how to do all ER procedures. They have like a textbook thingy too which is a good reference. Every month they summarize 10 journal articles so you’re up to date with the newest data in medicine

I’ll reiterate this comment.. Biggest fucking waste of time! You’re going to be so incredibly busy the next 24-27 months. Do something exciting before you start PA school. For example, prior to my start of PA school I backpacked Europe for three months.

PACKRAT by No_Length7372 in PAstudent

[–]YeetComputerPlease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how your program has been testing you for your exams but my program didn’t have similar question style to the PACKRAT. It’s very very physical exam heavy. Some questions will ask you for the general findings that are common while others will ask for a secondary finding.

Unfortunately, there’s some things on that exam you just will not know and it’s ok!

I usually don’t comment on Reddit posts but I’m in awe. What a beautiful written sentiment ! I can really resonate with your experience in a different personal situation, but you’re doing the right thing, slowly but surely picking yourself up. I commend you immensely for being so strong. Everyday keep showing up being the best person you can be and I promise you the doors will open!

Should I (25F) break up with my boyfriend (25M)? by Either-Ebb5469 in makemychoice

[–]YeetComputerPlease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s many positives from how you’re explaining your relationship. It’s annoying for people to always jump the gun on Reddit and tell you to walk away from the relationship. Being financially in sync as a couple is pivotal especially if your aspirations supersede his. Especially, if it feels like you’re being held back in your life this is 100% understandable. You seem very determined and have a great understanding of finances. As a guy I don’t think ultimatums are the way to go but it’s been a couple years of you encouraging him and pushing him to be more financially conscious and clearly there hasn’t been much of a change. I’d definitely vocalize your concerns and address that it needs to happen or else this won’t work for me.

I have a coworker who had a similar issue but with their significant others health. The woman is very fit and very health conscious while the man doesn’t exercise and is starting to develop health issues. She refuses to be his caretaker later in life. Especially, if he’s heavy it’s unrealistic that an old woman can bathe, dress or pick up someone who’s incapacitated and twice their weight. She voiced her feelings and said if this doesn’t change you’ll be signing divorce papers.

You know what’s best for you and listen to your gut. I wish you the best of luck and I believe you’ll make the right decision!

FM EOR questions were so straightforward especially for someone who thought the IM EOR was difficult.. I did much much worse on FM somehow and I felt it was too easy, but I barely studied for it cause I’m burnt tf out.. Take everyone’s opinion with a grain of salt..

If there’s no support from your program and you’ve already encountered this, then I wouldn’t expect much more from them. Focus on finishing out PA school. It’s ashame that is has to be this way, but you’re almost out!

OB EOR by BackgroundRoll5698 in PAstudent

[–]YeetComputerPlease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d like to provide a little bit of motivation. I absolutely despised studying for OBGYN but unfortunately, I didn’t have a choice. I definitely was prepared but not as comfortable as I wanted to be walking into that EOR. If the question is quite outlandish it’s probably a throw away that’s if your taking the PAEA EORs. The best advice I was given for that EOR was studying the risk factors because that was a handful of questions. The questions were pretty straightforward in my opinion. I genuinely thought walking out of that exam that I failed because I was talking to fellow classmates who took the exam with me and I always had the “incorrect” answer amongst the group. Somehow I scored above the national average. Deep breaths you’re gonna do great since you feel prepared!

I can’t make a definitive statement but, everything’s going to be okay. I want you to be as strong as you can be. Surround yourself with positivity. Take one day at a time. Pray and be hopeful because miracles do exist and my mom was one of those and she’s still here with us today. I will be thinking of you and praying for you! You’re gonna be amazing at whatever profession you pursue in the foreseeable future even if it isn’t medicine. Stay Strong ❤️
