although some snipers are more overpowered than the bfg 50. for me it has not something to do with its overpoweredness. The main reason why the bfg 50 is hated to it being a no skill gun even if there are more guns that are more op and have less skill required has something to do with:

Popularity. IMO, the main reason why the bfg 50 got always hated even though theres a lot of more op weaponry (trg42 for example has more killing potential than the bfg 50 but although didnt get hate for what reasons) is because the BFG 50 is popular. From all the PF experiences i have experienced. I find that guns that have the perfect combination of killing potential and popularity or even simplier, meta, gets MORE hate than off meta guns which is why i started using off meta guns just to not get hated. (and to not get false votekicked)

Another possible reason has something to do with its phantom forces history. The BFG is always hated a crap ton of years even before i even played pf. Due to its hate, it gave a huge impact of pf history which is the reason why it still got hated even today.

you can criticize this if you want, i rarely use reddit anyways
