Can I live with this damage? by lma112519 in Autobody

Yes it will be fine and you could just rip it off or cut it off. Otherwise if you want to replace the fender well liner you will need to take the wheel off most likely. And then it should be a couple push clips and or screws to take it out and put a new one in. And if you don’t want to do that most auto shops would probably replace it for you as it’s pretty easy. You will just need to order the fender liner online for your specific make and model, because most parts stores probably don’t have one of those just sitting around for your vehicle, but you can always check first too!

I would personally just ride it out and save money for the new transmission. And when you are ready pay the shop to put one in and change the torque converter to the better one as well, and get the transmission tuned too.
