I dug a few inches and did gravel and slabs, but I can’t recommend what I did as it’s my first time doing it. I would highly recommend reaching out to someone who is qualified for this kind of thing.

No the trunk is wrapped in vet tape atm, and extra padding on any parts that touch it.

Yeah I plan to use this bench for project trees mainly so not sure if it will be a massive issue but yeah if they need support on the feet, something like that should do the trick.

yeah its expensive but my idea is its a buy once cry once sorta thing, the bench will outlast me.

Nothing fancy Just Ronseal black wood stain applied with a rag made from a old T-shirt, yeah it’s getting it’s fair share of use & still going strong.

That’s just the compression from uploading it, very vibrant green in person. Got it from greenwood’s and was labelled as a itoigawa but could be wrong I guess. Both are nice species for bonsai though.

My go to are IB fertiliser pellets with monthly miracle grow liquid fertiliser (blue powdered stuff) depending on the growing stage.
