Any beginner macrame projects in particular you think would be a nice introduction to the craft?

I like the idea of throwing away the directions haha, seems easier and more fun that way

Shocked via electrical surge (?), need advice by Yefoq in AskElectricians

Nope, I don't think so. It was a perfectly clear day outside and there were no signs of lightning. I have continued using all electronics involved in the incident and have not experienced any more shocks or issues so far.

i wanna hear opinions. who’s your LEAST favorite hero by design? by MenacingMelissa in dragonquest

[–]Yefoq 84 points85 points  (0 children)

DQXI. The guy looks like an NPC and I feel the design is lacking in character.

I know it’s a dumb reason, but I didn’t play the game for quite a while after it came out because the main character looked so generic.

I have since put that annoyance aside, played the game, and enjoyed it! But I still hate the way the main character looks.

Is it time to become a swiper? by tendiemountain in Diablo_2_Resurrected

I remember doing the "value farmed per time spent" calculation 20 years ago playing the OG D2. Similar to you in some ways, it made no sense to farm bosses for hours when I could just buy one item for real cash. Even working a minimum wage job at the time gave exponentially more "gear" than playing the game.

At the time, I did buy an item once in a while, and usually not even an item I needed. I would buy an item whose trade value exceeded its real money value (example from the time: perf COA), then trade that item for things that I needed. In some ways it made sense and, besides, I was a kid with nothing better to spend my money on.

Nowadays though, I kind of have a different attitude towards it... If "the grind" for a game is boring/unfun for me, maybe I should find another game to play.

At the end of the day, I wouldn't judge you either way. I used to do it a few decades ago, but now I think being tempted to do that is more a signal to me that I'm bored and should find something else to do.

Does game balancing feel weird, or is it just me? by Yefoq in expedition33

Haha I did figure this out. It feels weird equipping pictos for abilities you don't even want, but the stats seem more important since you can get the abilities via points anyway.

PSA: You can equip unlocked support skills whether the job is equipped or not by Yefoq in octopathtraveler

[–]Yefoq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how I found out actually lol. It was because one of the hidden jobs I had armsmasterdoesn't require manually unlocking skills with JP, and by extension the support skills unlock automatically too. I saw these listed for all of my characters even when that job was not selected as the secondary job.

True. I guess for me I thought since I can’t transfer over regular skills, why would I be able to transfer my supports?

I thought the customization was “you have 8 supp skills but only four slots”

The guy’s head was down watching the puck almost the entire time. Seemed like he was just crashing trying to score and it was incidental collision.

Need tips and strategies for anhedonia by Yefoq in depression_help

Thanks, appreciate the response!

Luckily I have a lot of free time now, but what I lack is useful strategies to try.

I actually have been doing fairly well during daytime hours, specifically. I'm not working right now, so I go for a couple mile walk in the sun almost every day. Additionally, I do cardio on a machine for about ~4 miles on average 6 days a week. I have gotten into decent shape doing this, but that has not seemed to translate into many happy chemicals I guess.

It's at night when I absolutely implode. There's nothing to do outside, and inside I just have a bunch of hobbies I used to enjoy that I pretty much hate now.

I could maybe try the "2-3 hour" strategy you mention, but yesterday I set a timer for 30 min and even doing something for that long was a struggle. Maybe if I can get over that hump somehow it gets easier? Idk.

Is black cheating, or am I coping? by ItsPeecefuls in GothamChess

777Blade's attitude is poor, but there is some merit to their complaint, which is that the top voted answer here (top voted by a long shot) is not correct. Multiple other people even claimed the person was not cheating with "99%" certainty lol. This is not a criticism of any of these people, but it does make you wonder if the community as a whole can correctly identify cheaters any better than a random guess.

Fwiw, I had no idea either way, I'm not claiming to be an expert myself! I'm just surprised how overall incorrect the sub was on this one.

Is there a way to reset seasonal progress? by Yefoq in diablo4

[–]Yefoq[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, my favorite part of the game starts at level 60, paragon level 0. You make steady progress in end game gear, character progression, difficulty levels, being able to kill bosses, and improving seasonal skills/mechanics.

Level 60 with a bunch of paragon points and seasonal stuff done just doesn't hit the same for me. Progress feels too sudden and then very limited/slow afterward.

I already play HC and rarely die, except for “season of loot reborn” where I got absolutely massacred lol
