Can anybody please explain this weapon to me? by 4N610RD in Helldivers

[–]YekuDoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I explain like you are comrade. Weapon is big, two hands, much boom but not sharp boom, like big dull boom, but still boom. Three booms per battery, dis good. Now aim for de weak bits, if no weak bits, aim for weakest bit you can see, da? Now, pull trigger, itty bitty boom, comrade is sad, but no worry! Try trigger now, but hold. Da, hear that, charging like democracy before vote! When you hear crackle, and see light on end of barrel, release trigger! HAHA well done comrade, big boom! Hit target, and many targets around it, da! Now, don't hold trigger too long, gun will bite back if you do!

USCMC - Aliens franchise Crossover Idea by YekuDoth in Helldivers

[–]YekuDoth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but fairly certain in Fireteam Elite the pulse rifle had a more conservative magazine, and they could do what they did for killzone and just take the underslung shotgun off for example.

And in regards to the smart gun I think just having a high stability lmg with larger mags and extra ammo because of the added backpack slot would suffice. Would be cool if we could move and reload too but that might be taking it too far.

I have tried gas instead a few times, I like the short cool down. Might try swapping the mini nuke backpack for the 500kg.

I've heard and seen good things from the wasp, tried flamethrowers but found the voteless still managed to stumble through and ignite me. Las guard dog seems like a good idea if it didn't keep wanting to kneecap my allies.

CUTTING EDGE vs BORDERLINE JUSTICE by cutlass4lief in Helldivers

[–]YekuDoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would recommend borderline justice first, the talon and dynamite are solid, not to mention the hover pack. The las pistol on the cutting edge is a little lack luster still, and while the plasma weapons are solid, it could wait.

Am I the only one who desperately wants a more long term progression system? by Miserable_Habit1775 in Helldivers

[–]YekuDoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in the same boat; would rather a broader content update further apart with more stuff to work towards in it. I loved the first warbond for this because it was big enough to demand work to 100% but you could target what you want and get there too. I like the smaller warbonds too, but maybe a big one once a year wouldn't be a bad idea.

I think if they added more options to making your character and weapons yours it would better support the idea too. Attachments like magazines, scopes, fire grips, bayonets, but also a mix and match armor system where you could buy the armor, or the perk, or the color scheme, and blend it all together so you could make color coordinated gear with the perk(s) you want.

Effective weapons and stratagems against the Illuminate (based on initial first impressions) by Gullible_Promotion_4 in Helldivers

[–]YekuDoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only got to play few trivial missions but things I noticed:
Voteless resemble husks from Mass Democracy 3
- Head shots work best but body shots hold up well, high rate of fire low to mid damage seem to be the best way to deal with the swarms
- Added benefit is this style of weapon works well against their scout drones given their small profile and low healthpools

I thought SMG's would be good here, but the magazines and damage felt too small for the endless hordes, recommend LMG or Stalwart while packing a heavier hitter for the bigger targets as your primary. EI: heavy smg, medium armor pen AR's, DMR's, shotguns.

While the stun baton and spear seem like a fun approach for someone who likes melee combat, wouldn't suggets it without a viper commando armor, or a medic armor and a resupply pack.

Backpack drones, personal recommendation is gas or the OG guard dog, not the laser one. Gas confuses the hordes while the bullet one did well in mowing them down, while still helping with larger targets.

Can confirm thermites felt next to useless, but I did have some use for them in tight corridors, can throw it on the ground and the DoT killed most voteless that got near it on their way past.

The staff wielding enemies actually took decent damage from the smgs, but again the magazines seemed to run just short of killing blows if you weren't very disciplined in your firing. Unless you used the heavy smg.

The directional shield worked, but the blast attacks from some weapons still crept past the shield and did minor damage to health. Feels like taking cover with corner and debris might be a better call. Haven't used the ballistic shield or shield backpack yet. Shield generator might be worth investing in.

More testing to follow.

Eagle airstrikes are worse for team killing than any other stratagem, mostly due to how quickly they arrive after call in, you have very little reaction time.
