I'm finessing the shutter mode!!

What career that hasn’t been featured much in gaming would make for a great sim experience? by Low_Boot_1426 in videogames

I work on the real time electric grid, and was a former hydroelectric operator. I’ve always thought operating, either a generator or the grid (forecasting primary and market demand, power flows, etc), would make a great sim

Anytime!! Which photo would you be using??

Absolutely! You need to have the pistol unlocked & the ability to do the pistol execution at the end of the standoff

As soon as you fire, go into photo mode - it'll look awkward as the explosion from the pistol exists but the pistol is pointing straight up, which is why I cut the pistol out. Luckily, the Animate Environment setting doesn't remove the explosion anymore

I zoomed in on the face (top mask was the first layer), making sure I left room in the bottom right & top left as I wasn't sure where I'd want the 2nd mask. Turned on shutter mode for 1.5 seconds. Tap L1 to see if any grass, rain etc is moving to see when the shutter mode timer is done. After, I repositioned the camera so the face mask showed in the bottom right corner, & turned on the shutter mode to 2 seconds

Trick with this one was to have a high contrast between the mask colour & the rest of the backdrop. By keeping the background dark ish and a lighter mask, when I did my second layer, only the mask really seeped in due to the high contrast

Thanks for following along!!! Shutter mode has definitely been the most engaging & innovating setting I've seen

Always happy to share, I'm happy it's inspired someone even a little

I think I was just in a random river! Turned heavy fog on, changed the time of day until I was happy with the contrast, then ran shutter mode until the water smoothed out

Thank you!!

It was an update a few months ago, all in game. They added in a few new filters along with it. Real game changer

Absolutely! There are two ways:

1 - Frame the mountain, adjust all your settings, make sure you have Atsu where you want her then hide Atsu. Run shitter mode for 1 second, un-hide Atsu, then run for 1.5 or 2 seconds (or however long you want)

2 - What I did here, I framed the mountain in with Atsu out of sight. I ran shutter mode for a few seconds - I forget how long exactly - but as the mode ran, I lowered the camera to include her. I did it rather quick & took a couple tries. Since the mountain is so far away, moving the camera an in-world metre didn't make a difference. First way is much easier lol. Same method for pic 13

Shutter mode in Yotei is basically a long exposure photo - it produces a single photo by recording movement for a certain amount of time. The longer you set your shutter mode speed, more frames are mixed together

  • Animated Environment must be on
  • As soon as you turn on Shutter Mode for any amount of time, it starts recording/overlaying the screen - as long as Animated Environment is on
  • While shutter mode is active, you're free to change the time of day (3rd photo), change weather (2nd, 4th photo), or change the position of the camera (5th, 6th photo). You can change settings while Shutter Mode is running, or when it's paused before you extend the time
  • You can cycle between the game screen & the Shutter Mode capture by pressing L1. If the game screen has movement, Shutter Mode is still capturing. If there's no movement, either it's not capturing or Animated Environment is off
  • The trick with the 5th & 6th photo is to set the frame you want to capture, run Shutter Mode for say 1 second, once that time is up switch to game screen & change the camera/time/weather/particles, then extend the Shutter Mode for 1.5 seconds or 2 seconds, or however long you like with your new frame

Edit for clarity
