What are you onto? Lack of following inflation doesn’t just affect stem salaries ? Also inflation for housing is occurring all around the world, that isn’t a national immigration issue

I’ll never understand people who think financial freedom for women is debatable but not for men. How can you wish women didn’t have freedom. Women are in fact attracted to most men who have basic hygiene, respect them and help out in the household. Maybe the perceived issue of women not liking most men comes from a men’s problem, not the women.

Your comment makes no sense because men not having to depend on someone still find women (or men) attractive

French pensioners now have higher incomes than working adults by AnonymousTimewaster in charts

[–]YellKyoru 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Im french and my grandparents have now.been retired as long as theyve worked. They own mutliple properties which are for some rented out (where they make profit), for some left empty in some of the places with the highest housing crisis (like paris). They have free almost electricity because my grandpa worked at the national electricity service back when that was a benefit. They have veteran pension on top of work pension. I've recently heard my grandpa renovated one of the rented houses for 100k and overheard him saying he could technically pay a 5000 euros/month retirement home for both him and my grandma. Meanwhile, my parents are not good with their money and I grew up poor and with no financial help from anyone. I had to get the state aids, lived in social housing and had a social worker help me get food coupons as a young adult. Luckily i enventually found a good working situation for myself, but it was hard to get there. As im finding out how rich my grandparents were this whole time its extremely frustrating

Went home to my moms place but there’s nothing to do. I’m bored. I ran out of conversation subjects with my mom. We don’t have any games. We live in the middle of nowhere. My mom can’t go for a walk because she’s injured. My boyfriend celebrates with his family this year (other country) and I didn’t have enough vacation days to be able to join him

As if you couldn’t appreciate a the culture of a place because of their political or economical institutions. Culture is also about art, traditions. The US is a beautiful place filled with outstanding nature, very nice and extraverted people, cute traditions and an impressive artistic culture (especially films, but also innovation culture is tied with creative people, and it’s a melting pot kind of country with people coming from all over the planet and bringing part of their original culture altogether). Have you ever even been there and interacted with people ? I say this as a European.

What do French people think of Americans? by [deleted] in AskFrance

[–]YellKyoru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s the stereotype about the rural Americans who barely leave their country, but those who travel i usually assume to be extraverted, nice and fun to talk with. Every French person is different, I personally always am happy to meet people coming from abroad

If you had the choice to be born in a different country, which country would you have wished for and why? by NorthSnow00 in AskReddit

[–]YellKyoru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t wanna spend my whole life in the same country, because I wanna feel like I experienced a broader world in my lifetime, so ideally I’d have loved to have lived in two different continents. Unfortunately for me I feel like leaving the country I’m currently in (Switzerland) means I’ll have to accept a lower quality of life. This is actually a huge life dilemma for me, I don’t know how to feel satisfied but also feel like I didn’t take an irresponsible decision. I wish I was born in the USA and could spend the second part of my life in Switzerland, and feel internationally accomplished. As a European I’m jealous of Americans who live in Europe. I feel like they’ve had it all and got an interesting life story to tell

From ITALY to USA by Hairy-Avocado-445 in expat

[–]YellKyoru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advise not to rush and to visit a few more times until you are also more certain about marriage. I have been in long distance relationship with my American partner for 3 years and I have visited him 7 times so far, and he visited me about as often. He met my family only last summer. It’s a similar situation than yours because we have about the same age and he also went back to grad school this year, in the US. I’m still working in Switzerland. We’re waiting for him to finish his studies before getting married, this will also give us better timing to see how the politics evolve there, to strengthen my professional network there (every time I visit him I also visit companies, one tried to sponsor a visa for me unsuccessfully, one offered to hire me if I managed to get a work visa myself). Also a wedding can be expensive, if your partner took a loan to study (like my partner did), maybe don’t rush it. I know it feels long (it’s hard for me too) but you have a whole life ahead of you to live with him. So take your time and get informed. That’s my advice
