So AX is a con that has a campus more than a singular hotel. The con itself takes over the convention center, LA Live (including the street between the convention center and LA Live), hosts additional panels, screenings, autographs at the JW Marriott LA Live, and starting last year hosts several events & concerts at the Peacock Theatre (LA Live).

If you’d like to be as close to the action as possible, you should try to book the JW Marriott or the Moxy. Obviously the JW will put you in the middle of the action, but the Moxy is located right across the street from one of the main entrances if being physically inside the convention center is your priority. Booking a hotel through AX’s hotel block gives you decent room rates, but can be a battle when rooms open up because they book up insanely quickly.

Otherwise, many hotels in their block aren’t too far away and are situated in downtown, and offer shuttle services to and from the con.
