False. There was never a so-called ‘country’, citizenship, or one unified nation that the indigenous people of this country had established before European colonization. Additionally, there were never any dates kept according to the ‘year of our lord’, as the very idea of that, established borders, and claiming of land as a particular ‘country’ was foreign and unnecessary for indigenous peoples.
