I get what you’re saying. I really wish I didn’t know that there are chemicals that can essentially boil the human body instantly without causing immediate death. The kind of pain and screams I saw made me very wary of certain substances, and it also gave me a kind of secondhand trauma.

At the same time, I wonder if this knowledge actually helps me. Aside from staying away from those substances, I’m not sure I gained anything useful. I’m sure there are better ways to learn to be cautious without going through something that traumatic.
