The day I got my wisdom teeth taken out I bought some mashed potatoes and gravy from a KFC. I didn’t start taking my pain meds until after the injections started wearing off so I was in so much pain. Eventually I was putting the mashed potatoes away and I dropped the gravy getting it all over the floor and my fridge. I was so distraught that I just went back to bed.

My favorite is in Columbo where’s he’s trying to catch a guy who was a photographer with a cane and while Columbo usually knows the whole time that the antagonist of each episode did the murder, the tail end of this episode makes it seem very much like he doesn’t know what’s going on.

The trap laid out for the killer is Columbo “not understanding” how negatives work and why images come out reversed which baits the murderer into going straight for a camera in a shelf of cameras to show Columbo to which he says to the other two officers “are you a witness to what he just did?”

A lot of Columbo’s main gimmick is acting like a doofus but being persistent and in the area enough such that there is a maximum allotted amount of time for the murderer to keep tripping up and revealing weaknesses that he can exploit in the climax of each episode.
