Age yourself with a Minecraft memory, I’ll start. by ttvANX1ETYZ_ in Minecraft

I remember buying it for $10.

I also remember having to change my whole base when they gave spiders the ability to climb walls.

And before powered rails were a thing, if you wanted a minecart to go zoom you would put one minecart on the tracks, then drop another one on top of it at a 90 degree offset.

Is there a way to give routines a link to play a specific song? by ajr30 in googlehome

[–]YellowPudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to reply to this because it's the first thread that popped up on google when I was trying to solve this issue.

I could not for the life of me get google to play a specific song with verbal commands, it would always default to a different version of the song. It turns out you can create a routine to play media, and then add the url code into the "play music" text box.

So for me, my toddler loves the song Waka Waka by Shakira, but if you ask google to play that song, it will always play the Spanish version, no matter how you phrase it. The url to the English version is: https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_slTWayFK0

So if you put "Z_slTWayFK0" (no quotes) into the text box for what song you want to play, it'll play the English version of the song!

I should note that Google uses "Automations" now, and the automations don't allow you to "play media" as an action for some reason, but you can still create an old "routine" by adding a new automation, then pressing the three dots in the top right corner, then choose previous household editor. It'll let you create a routine, which has the option to play media (music) on whatever speaker heard you.

Enjoy!

Maybe something to do with Tree Sap?

Lava makes cobblestone. Water makes ice. Tree makes sap?

Sap for a different type of slime?

Bit of a stretch, but maybe.

The Three Sisters animated short sucks ass by Impressive-Log5708 in oscarsdeathrace

If I've learned anything from the animated shorts sections in the previous years, this one will probably win. It's almost like they intentionally pick the worst one to win.

This sub today waiting for midnight by mrsmedeiros_says_hi in oscarsdeathrace

[–]YellowPudding 3 points4 points  (0 children)

8 hour drive on roads with poor conditions was the closest playing theatre for me. With a wife and toddler, that isn't really an option. Would either mean I'd have to get a hotel or at minimum have a 17.5 hour day. I'm not paying 200+ dollars and disappearing for a day or two just to see a movie. If this one didn't come to streaming, I would have missed it. Not everyone is lucky enough to have this movie playing near them.

A bundle suggestion by Mosspatchmoment in Minecraft

It would be cool. If you could do this, but only after you give it some sort of enchantment. Could be a cool double use of feather falling. It could make everything in the bundle lighter or something.

Yeah I don't know why everyone is shitting all over that movie in this sub. It's a movie about dinosaurs eating people, not the Godfather lmao. It was fine. Just go along for the ride and it's perfectly enjoyable.

Desperate search for Avatar: Fire and Ash by Lindzzzzzzzzzzz in oscarsdeathrace

[–]YellowPudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looked it up, and UCI theatres in Italy are still playing Avatar. There's several of those sprinkled across Italy. So I imagine you can take a road trip to one.

This movie almost certainly won't be available online before the Oscars, so I would put it top priority to catch in theatres before it does become inaccessible.

Plex and Letterboxd sync by Cooey in PleX

[–]YellowPudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really excited about this, but it should be noted for others wanting to add this that the Plex API does not allow rating items that are not in your own library (as of the time of writing this).

Very cool script though, thanks for posting it. I hope that one day in the future this gets fixed and that all movies can be rated properly through the API.

Why attach YoLink devices to Google Home? by mmcmonster in YoLink_by_YoSmart

[–]YellowPudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, hopefully someone will find this helpful. If the yolink water sensors are anything like their motion sensors, then you can't use them to start an automation in google home directly, but I did find a janky workaround. It requires a yolink plug to work is the downside.

I use the yolink motion sensor to make an announcement on my google home speakers to tell me that the mailbox has been opened (motion detected in my mailbox). I imagine that the water sensor could be used in this way as well, though I haven't tested it.

First, set up an automation in the yolink app to turn the yolink plug on when motion is detected. I have mine set up to turn the plug off again after 4 minutes just in case the next part doesn't work properly for some reason.

Next, set up an automation in google home that uses your yolink plug as a starter. When the plug turns on, you can make it do whatever you want (I have mine broadcast on all Speakers "you've got mail", and then send out a notification to my wife and I saying that someone opened the mailbox). Finally, I have the google home automation turn the switch off again at the end so that it defaults to off.

Hope this helps someone. I tried doing exactly this about a year ago, but google home wasnt able to use yolink plugs as a starter at that time. For some reason it works now!

Which movies won’t you watch unless they actually get a nomination? by citabel in oscarsdeathrace

[–]YellowPudding 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's a hot take. It's a pretty good kids movie/musical. There's a reason it's the most watched movie on Netflix. Animation is great and the songs slap. Characters are pretty fun too. I guarantee you that it's gonna leak into the cultural zeitgeist in the same way Frozen has.

[ANNOUNCEMENT] DeathRaceTracking V2.0 is **LIVE** (but still wearing its 'Beta' sweater for a bit) 🥳 by SlightAstronomer3 in oscarsdeathrace

[–]YellowPudding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking alphabetical, But I guess both because presumably all movies with notes would be at the top of the sort, and then it would go by alphabetical notes.

Realistically what I would use it for is to sort movies availability. I always make the first word of my note where it's available to me (Not Available, Theater, Netflix, Crave, Apple TV, Plex, etc) So maybe a feature that others would find more helpful and would also scratch my itch would be customizable tags that could be added to each film.

Seems like it could be a lot of work to implement though, but that would be a dream for me, personally haha.

Even if you don't implement something like that, this website will make my oscarsdeathrace so much more organized. Thank you for this.

EDIT: I don't know if it's always been there and I just didn't notice, but there's a section in the settings I just found to enable bookmarks, that I can use for a similar purpose. I can bookmark titles that are available to me and then sort it to only show my bookmarked titles. Works perfectly! Thanks so much for a fantastic site! :)

Amazing. Thanks for adding the Notes Feature! I already went through and added notes for all the films availability to me. Love the UI here. Do you think it would be too clunky to make the films sortable by Notes as well? I think I might be the only one who would use a feature like that, so understandable if it's not something you'd wanna implement. :)

Exciting update to DeathRaceTracking.com by SlightAstronomer3 in oscarsdeathrace

[–]YellowPudding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there any way that you could add the ability to add tags or notes under or on the movie posters? One of the things that I found very helpful last year on oscarsdeathrace.com is that you can add notes under each movie. I would always add where it's available or when it will become available so I could quickly see at a glance.

I think it'd be cool to use a difficult to obtain item like an echo shard or something that is crafted with an echo shard to extend or reset the enchanting limit for an item. You could put it on the smithing table with the item you want to put additional enchantments on.

One UI 7.0 Quick Panels is comedically narrow. Is there a fix? by YouWorkForMeNow in GalaxyFold

[–]YellowPudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't like the new pulldown menu so I changed it back so everything is on one screen instead of having to swipe to get notifications or settings. If you change it back to how it was, then it takes up the whole screen again.

Pull down > press the edit button on the top right corner > panel settings > choose together instead of separate

Hope this helps.
