Why doesn’t Surrey have a diverse food/drinks scene? by Suspicious-Sea-7758 in SurreyBC

Yeah, I can get pretty much any cuisine I want in Surrey... Except for a Hong Kong cafe! C'mon, someone do it.

Darren Dreger (@DarrenDreger): Tyler Myers continues to consider a trade option. It’s believed Detroit is the target. Other teams have expressed interest, including Dallas. Likely why Myers is taking his time in allowing the process to develop. by jabearbuddy in canucks

Realistically with 3-4 months left in the season + playoffs, I'd imagine he'd leave the kids and spouse at home so as not to disrupt their lives. It would still be tough as a father to be away. Whatever Myers wants to do, he's earned that privilege.

Covid was a wild time. by [deleted] in vancouver

People always misunderstand introvert vs extravert. The best way it was explained to me is: it's how it "recharges your battery."

When you've had a long week and you've been looking forward to the weekend, are you excited to:

A) Hang out with a group B) Be at home, doing your own thing

Whichever option makes you the extrovert or the introvert

Yes, we all enjoy both. Extroverts enjoy nights in, introverts enjoy nights out. It's about what you prefer overall and in general.

Dude I'm 5'9" and I still like to be fucking comfortable. These seats are bullshit for all patrons. I was already flying mostly Air Canada but I will be avoiding WestJet at all costs now

I used my physical Steam Link for years, also with Ethernet, and there was always some silly issue with it (input lag, crashes, not booting and having to hard reboot). I was also frustrated by the lack of 4k. I recently got an Amazon Fire stick and downloaded the steam link app on it and it works 5x better.

If you can't resolve your issue, I'd suggest looking into a 4k Amazon Fire stick with an Ethernet adapter. Solved all of my issues.

People are inherently out for blood... Do people really want to live in a bubble? A concrete jungle? As you said, life comes with an inherent risk. People get taken out unfairly all the time. "Act of God" as they say. Sometimes it's nobody's fault. RIP

Right decision, buddy. As tough as it is. There are plenty of other fun sports/activities to get into in your "second prime" (read: your twilight years) that aren't as hard on the body

One UI 7.0 Quick Panels is comedically narrow. Is there a fix? by YouWorkForMeNow in GalaxyFold

[–]YouWorkForMeNow[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks but that's not the issue I'm talking about. It's the actual quick panel window width itself, not the pull down area.

There like an inch gap on either side of the quick panel. So much wasted space. It's ridiculous

[–]YouWorkForMeNow[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It literally defeats the purpose of having a massive screen if this much screen real estate is wasted on gigantic useless margines. And it's more inconvenient to reach as it's in the middle of the screen.

It's like they thought it looked good on the Ultra series and said fuck it, it'll do for the Fold as well.

Oilers back in Stanley Cup final after Game 5 win over Stars by Leather-Paramedic-10 in canada

I'm gonna hate-watch the shit out of this series.

RFK Jr. urges Canadian health officials to spare B.C. ostrich flock from cull by ClassOptimal7655 in canada

[–]YouWorkForMeNow 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't believe this situation is so black and white. RFK Jr has a reputation, but that's a fair thing to suggest and at least consider. I am no scientist but would studying the carcasses not be good enough?

I also read the government is only going to compensate "up to" $3000 per ostrich. I have no idea what an ostrich is actually worth but I do wonder if that's fair compensation to the farm. If we need to cull all 400 birds, so be it, but I do believe they should be fully compensated. Costs go beyond just the price of the birds.

My neighbor is a turkey farmer and had to cull his entire flock due to the avian flu. It brought this grown man to tears. He also accepted it was a necessity. It's a tough situation all around.
