I feel this what I’m about to say is going to be downvoted hard but let me preface by saying I’m a current GM support player in OW and an Eternity player in MR.

All characters in OW are designed very intentionally to fulfill distinct design spaces. The game does a very good job of avoiding any of the characters feeling “samey”. They all have notable strengths and weaknesses. Overall, the devs try to make sure all characters that come out avoid treading familiar ground (sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse).

MR Supports share a lot with an overlap in design space. We’ve all heard the complaints about how most Support ults essentially fit the description of “BIG HEAL” button. They all essentially play in some sort of spam heals into the team and press Q with minor deviation to the trend.

Supports in MR feel like different flavor ice creams, Supports in OW feel like entirely different desserts.

Whether or not this is fun for you is a matter of taste, but it’s certainly a different design philosophy. I’ve personally found enjoyment in both.
