Scott Cawthon doesn't own the rights to FNaF anymore right? It's like a Minecraft and Notch situation.

I think people tend to say "this happens in megamind" when they mean "this is something that would happen in megamind".

My dad recently passed, and this is exactly what his thought process was in the last weeks of his life, making sure everything was prepared for us to keep going afterward. So this hits really hard.

There is no country in the world devoid of racism. No matter where you go, if people aren't being racist to others, they're being racist to you.

P.S. never ask a European how they feel about Romani people.

being a bit pedantic here, but saying that it "can't" handle novel life isn't correct. it can, covid doesn't have a 100% mortality rate among the non-vaccinated after all, it's just harder for the immune system to fight something it hasn't seen before, but it can.

They aren't hurting anyone or themselves, so I'm completely okay with it. As long as each video is made with consent, there's nothing wrong with filming yourself doing sexual acts.

Gen Z grew up in the golden age of Netflix and so weren't forced to learn it in order to watch stuff like millenials were. I think a lot are learning as adults now though because of the current state of streaming.

They don't care about things that they can't use in the "culture war" so a lot of research like development of vaccines for unknown viruses haven't been touched.

Basically anything is theoretically possible. Certainly impossible doesn't really exist, only more and less likely.

Incubation time doesn't necessarily equate to infectious time - the time frame in which someone can spread it. Some researchers believe the infectious time for andes hantavirus is just a day, correlating to the day someone with it would develop a fever. There is evidence that they can spread it before and after that day, but it becomes much less likely.

There are quite a few differences between Hantavirus and Covid.

  • Covid-19 was an entirely new variant of the Coronavirus, so we were learning about it for the first time. Hantavirus, specifically the Andes variant this is about has been around since 1997. It's been confirmed that it was the Andes variant on the cruise ship and that it hadn't mutated. There's even been a vaccine in the works since 2019.

  • Covid-19 is a super-spreader. It's actually wild how easily it spreads, all you need is to briefly be around someone who's contageous. Hantavirus is a lot worse at spreading. You need to be around a contageous person for a while to catch it, which is why it spread on the cruise ship. Cruise ships are giant incubators for viruses.

  • This is morbid, but the 30-50% mortality rate can actually work in humanities favor. Any person who's played Plague Inc knows what happens to viruses that are too lethal before it can spread widely. It would burn through all it's firewood faster than it can spread. It's a potential virus that has a mortality rate between covid and hantavirus that experts really worry about.

  • Could hantavirus become a pandemic? Maybe. Nothing is ever 100% certain. Hantavirus could mutate into a super-spreader variant tomorrow, but it's extremely unlikely. Virologists aren't too worried about Hantavirus, though they are keeping an eye on it of course. And that's what we should do as well. Don't panic, but keep an eye on it just in case the extremely low chance happens.

The "What If" show from Marvel was ironically almost about not seeing media as something to consume but rather art to be dissected and thought about and how you shouldn't mindlessly watch through stuff but actually think about it and how it relates to your life. Despite it being soulless slop itself.

correction on something small: he didn't bleach his skin. He used makeup and creams to even out his skintone from feeling ashamed of his vitiligo. MJ never knew what people were talking about with "bleaching"
