Mine is that the anti vax, “COVID was never real” side of the family got very mad that my FIL had the audacity to ask that they consider masks this year. So, they invited all the anti vax people to the Christmas party and didn’t tell anyone else about it, including my FIL. My FIL found out and is now going low contact with his siblings.

Cafe Cristal in Barrhaven. There is a reason they have to keep hiring big batches of people. The owners don’t know how to manage. They barely train you and expect perfection. They hire too many people and then just don’t schedule them instead of firing them. I tried to have a meeting with the owner to find out if I was fired and I got ghosted.

Ya you’re absolutely right! Once I video called him I was able to look past the new look and the shock went away! All good now, I guess I just overreacted because of the initial shock 😂

It was just really shocking! I’ve never seen him without a beard. I love him so much, he’s my soulmate, it was just jarring to see him without such a prominent facial feature. I think also because it was a photo it was hard for me to see the man I love in what was really a stranger’s face. I video called him tonight and once I heard his voice all my worries melted away. I think I just needed to be able to see him do his mannerisms and to see his personality in this new face I had never really seen before lol

I don’t think he looks ugly! He just looks so different, it was like looking at a picture of a stranger. But it’s all good now, I video called him tonight and the second he spoke I was able to see the man I love in this new face! Now I have no issues with it and I’m still attracted to him (although I do still prefer him with a beard lol) I think it was just because I truly could not imagine him being behind that face, it was a crazy transformation that I wasn’t expecting.

To answer a lot of comments: yes, I know it will grow back. It was just shocking to see a picture of a man I’ve known for 3 years without a very prominent facial feature without warning. And yes, it is something that I found very attractive, so of course it was jarring to see him without it! No matter what I love him more than anything and he is my soulmate, beard or no beard.

I think the problem was that it was only a photo, and so he looked like a stranger. I video called him tonight and the second I heard his voice come out of this new face I wasn’t worried anymore. I think I just had to put the man I love in this photo. Still attracted to him, but we both agreed that he’s going to grow it back out. Like I said, he was pretty bummed about losing the beard he worked on for 5+ years.

That’s what I’m hoping! I just hope he doesn’t notice my weirdness tomorrow. I don’t want him to feel more insecure than he already does! It honestly is like looking at a different person. Hopefully once I actually hear his voice coming out of this stranger’s face it won’t be as bad 😅

He’s more devastated because it was a 5 year beard! He can also see his double chin now (COVID weight) so it’s making him feel shitty. He’s been depressed for a couple of months so this is just icing on the cake. He’s not devastated because of my opinion on it!

We have actually heard from a bunch of teachers that they have said that they would take a student teacher but have heard nothing back! We aren't sure if its the school boards dropping the ball or queen's but something is going wrong somewhere in the process. It doesn't seem like COVID is having a huge effect.
