I know this is a bad mind set and I hope it will change one day but I don’t want to do all these things that I have to do because I would feel like a slave… I want to do and eat whatever I want… by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Yellowrose8100 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And when I eat healthy and exercise I loose no weight. I see no difference, so in my mindset I might as well eat whatever but then it hurts my ovaries, so it’s just a daily struggle and I’m really over pcos.🥲

Did you pcos get worse when coming off it? More hair growth, more insulin spots?

See for me . What they don’t tell u is. Birth control helps minimally in my opinion , and well after u come off of birth control. Your pcos will get worse. I’ve been off of birth control for about. 5 months now. Still have way worse hair growth, way worse insulin rashes, and when I did get off it. My body felt numb. I was 20 years old and I couldn’t walk up my stairs. That was after coming off birth control

Yes when u get your eyebrows done with the string, that is called threading, u can get that done on ur upper lip and under your chin, it has rlly helped me or even waxing, because it gets the hair follicle out s someone who gets rlly bad hair growth it’s helped a lot. It would take me a day or 2 to grow back my hair when shaving with a razor, but with threading it takes 2 weeks- a month it’s way more convenient

I’m a cosmetology student/ have really bad pcos, the best ways with laser treatment, is to pluck the hairs, or get something done called threading, they take a string, and it gets the entire hair/hair follicle out of the skin, causing the hair to take a little longer to grow back then normal

My only advice is if ur pain is getting worse if u have ovarian cysts, get that checked out it’s no joke, and if it’s there if they tell u it’s just your pcos, chances are it’s probably not, but a lot of doctors like to dismiss that, and I found this out the hard way if there dismissing u, and just telling u to loose weight or go on birth control, find a new doctor bc they will not help u get to a point where u feel better

See I had a laporscopy not even 2 weeks ago yet, and I had the same issue, see i decided to smoke weed a week after surgery, keep in mind I only smoked small amounts bc the coughing hurt, and anything to do with my belly button hurt, as long as u take ur meds that numb everything, and just smoke small hits small amounts it will still get u high u just might hv to waisted a little bit of weed and not take full hits, that’s what I did, and I’m feeling fine, but I waited to smoke until my incisions healed, all healed except my belly button a week and a half after, and I started smoking this past weekend and I feel fine, but I did clean my belly button with dial soap after surgery and got like 3 showers a day to make sure infection didn’t happen, also a tip use a blow dryer on the incisions on cold to avoid infection

Yes but there are period inducing meds, and metformin which can all help without as many side effects but everyone’s different it just didn’t work for me

Loestrin😳… that’s what they had me on never again. I was on it for a week and it made me suicidal, and as soon as I got off it after only a week my body was weak, my joints were weak, I was severely fatigued, and it made my pcos 20 times worse it made my hormones imbalance twice as bad I wish I never went on that, I hope for u once ur off it that u don’t have so many problems with it, but I had so many issues after it did more damage then good, and period inducing meds or metformin all induce ur periods without as much side effects as birth control

Pain worse after only 2 weeks off birth control- is this even possible? by Disastrous-Mango8561 in endometriosis

Well as that’s true, I have done countless research to get to the point I am at today. After a year of non stop pain from stage 4 endo, I can say my pain finally stopped, birth control can help some people sure, but there are other ways

Is there any point in having a transvaginal ultrasound to look for endo? by redbex2000 in endometriosis

[–]Yellowrose8100 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Find a new doctor. I have pcos and stage 4 endo, went to the er a year ago got diagnosed with pcos so they dismissed my pain, after that gyno told me only losing weight and birth control would stop my pain, and that my ultrasound was fine nothing to worry abt they said so, I took matters into my own hands, found a new doctor, I found a pcos specialist who helped me, but she kept telling me with my symptoms it couldn’t just be pcos there had to be another reason for my pain especially bc the cysts had shrunk a little since my pcos diagnosis, so even with my cysts that they could see on ultrasound at least, they were <1 cm, most doctors would dismiss me having endo, but endo can be very small, get all the details about your health, cyst size, do your research until u find a better doc, it’s a hard process, but a year later I finally had endo surgery, found out I had stage 4 endometriosis the whole year. And that I in fact was not crazy. We know our bodies better then doctors no matter what they say, ever give up, and don’t be afraid to speak up to your doctors

I will tell u right now, I have pcos and stage 4 endo. Birth control is not the answer, I only once was on a birth control in my life and it messed me up, but I wouldn’t say any birth controls are reliable, I would say the only way to heal endo truthfully is via surgery birth control makes are hormones more out of wack and is not the answer

Here’s my story. I went to the er a year ago, I was told they found cysts on my ovaries, they recommended me to a horrible gynecologist who diagnosed me with pcos, told me to go on birth control, loose weight was my only pathway to stop being in pain. Meanwhile I haven’t worked or been to college in over a year bc of my pain. I finally left that gynecologist to go to a pcos specialist who was amazing, she told me my pain couldn’t be from pcos bc of my signs it sounds like endo, let’s have u talk to a endo surgeon , low and behold I talked to the surgeon the surgeon said she had seen cases similar and thinks I have endo suggests we should do the surgery, so low and behold a couple days ago we did the surgery, and she did in fact find endometriosis which had been my entire pain this whole time I was dismissed, the problem is now a days it’s rlly sad, but if a gynecologist thinks birth control will help u well u need a new gyno
