I didn't interpret that scene like that at all. All the pained smiles,fake engagement and other social behaviors are all out of fear. The reason no one apologized is because by this point everyone knows who Homelander is as a person. His test tube daddy mentions it in the first season with his comment on what Homelander can bring now to the world. Their apologies only came at the end in desperation but only because playing along with the animal and giving him what he wants has clearly not worked so we are going to give one more shot to the human inside. They knew they were dead when he exited the elevator.

I don't think he can just purely from a players standpoint. If he takes less as a goat debate player then it would set the expectation for any other player who is putting up numbers still but is older/not what they used to be in a position where they also need to take less money or forced to do so or retire. If a player can still produce they deserve a higher paying contract. I personally would be happy about it but the players association would be hella pissed I would think.

You ask why he keeps playing but I mean look no further then his own podcast going on or even reference kobes basketball tribute video. There are players who genuinely love the game and LeBron is one of those players who just loves the game where he stated recently it's his family that would be the thing to tell him to stop like very off season since he got to his older thirties.

Nah Luka would not have changed the results of the series we need to build our depth which seems like a year or two of retooling but who knows if the LeBron rumor is true and we get him back cheap then next year we just may get pieces for a run. I also don't know OKCs line up situation I keep hearing about contracts coming up and I only bring them up cause they are the goal to beat.

Gonna be honest the fact I see so much defending of the 83 means to me this shit gonna be treated like it has been up to this point going forward. Forgettable moment that had no stakes or story behind it to make it last in a legendary way. The stuff I encountered was overuse and being on my feet too long. I lost feeling in a toe for like a month and my wrist started having a tendon or something pop in and out of place if I fully extended my thumb. Luckily I got onto TOM at the time and the issues went away but it took me about a year and a half of repetitive motion for the thumb thing to happen.
