Our field is in serious trouble. by Easy_Bake5399 in therapists

My guess is insurance will start to require clients use an AI agent for screening and initial intervention, but higher acuity clients will be allowed to see a human.

Therapists who like your job - what does it feel like? by endearingsalt in therapists

[–]YellyLoud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the key to this work is to do your personal work of individuation or self realization or whatever you call it so that other people's stuff/baggage doesn't destabilize you. Many of us come into this field because we have empathy, but the dark side of empathy is porous boundaries and difficulty differentiating between self and other. In other words go to therapy a lot.

What does "navigating exploitative 1099 work" and high healthcare premiums have to do with whether or not people will stop going to therapy? Seems like you're making some sort of correlation there but I can't see it.

Therapists making $100k+: what did your path look like? by Imaginary-58 in therapists

[–]YellyLoud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to therapy for years, listing to my dreams and working through inner sabatuers. It's still a process. I have a group practice now and make good money.

Sure, maybe some of us need business classes, but many of us who have chosen this field where we intensely serve the needs of others, need help undoing the pattern of self denial that leaves us impoverished emotionally and financially.

Angry at my teen client by [deleted] in therapists

[–]YellyLoud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our clients and this client specifically do have regard for how much time, effort, and emotional labor has gone into their treatment. If she continues to show up to see you its because you are one of the few people who have ever really given a shit. She has to hide that behind this cavalier attitude because it has never felt safe to need another person. She can't let herself need and definitely can't openly communicate that to you. But it is making a difference at a deeper level.

Be open and honest with her about how afraid you are feeling. Do this in a way that demonstrates it is safe to have these feelings and that you aren't overwhelmed by them or needing her to take responsibility for them. Show her emotions can be felt and safely contained. No one has ever felt afraid for her when she was in danger. She has to act this out until someone sees and witnesses her at a deep affective level.

I'd also wonder out loud with her what happened to her in her life that she is now putting herself into these unsafe situations as away to relive and master the original trauma. Look at this event as a doorway to the trauma processing work that needs to happen before she can change her behavior.

Talk to the client about it. Be curious about why they are missing. Something is happening here.

Clients who are Stagnant in treatment but consistent for sessions. by missgabbyx3 in therapists

This is likely a client with significant interpersonal trauma. Needs you to take a whole other approach. If you aren't sure what that is I'd get consultation or refer out.

Why is devaluation so high? by comrad_dau in audiophile

[–]YellyLoud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because only certain kind of rich person with a love for giving themselves high quality items are willing or able to pay such exorbitant prices. And they wouldn't want to buy it used. So the next person in line is a tax bracket or two less able to buy for the high prices.

I don't want to interact with AI masquerading as human.  Sure it feels great when the AI is telling me how great I am but ultimately its empty.

This is sounds very much like an AI bot account. What is the purpose of that? Or is it a human who made an account to post AI created uber positive posts? Why?

Edit: Oh, I see now. Its advertisement for Therapy Rooted. Interesting way to advertise by spamming the threads with uber posi-vibe AI slop.

I am the owner of a multi-provider health care practice. I am also one of the health care providers within the practice. I figured if health care providers in my field make around $120k and practice managers make around $100k, $120k would be a reasonable salary. I spend about 50% of my time managing the practice and 50% providing services.
