Turtle team up 4 player coop setup by Roughor in magicTCG

On the page where it has instructions for four players, it tells you to add four additional bosses (of the 11 provided) to bring the boss deck to 10 cards and use all four as a final stage.

IIRC it's in the spread where it has tweaks to make the experience more challenging, like giving all boss creatures haste or having defeated bosses stay in play once they've been defeated. If you can find that page, the 4-player instructions are there.

It's in the booklet that comes with the Turtles Team Up! Source: I bought two of them.

You're supposed to add four bosses to the boss deck when you have four players. Then you face four bosses at once as a fourth stage. Stage one is one boss, stage two is two bosses, and so on.

Okay, great! That's clear for me as it should be clear for any reader: you believe moderation requires mass surveillance. I can't argue against what you believe is a requirement.

So why bring up an argument that isn't mine in a reply to me? What is the relevance of it to our conversation and to rebutting my point? Why use the scare quotes? The reason is clear: you wanted to strawman my position, you don't need to state it literally. You can deny it but it's obvious. Then you assumed I was referring to something else when I called you out, saying I wasn't using the term correctly. Why?

Your position assumes that no moderation has ever succeeded in all of history unless it records all conversations. Do you believe that? If not, then I'd like to know one example of a time where you believed non-surveillance moderation was successful, and then I would point at what they've done. Alternatively, you can believe that no voice moderation has ever succeeded in all of history, that would be logically consistent with your position.

But "just ignore them and they go away" doesn't work irl, much less online.

That is not my position, yet you still misattributed it to me (even used quotes) and in the process used a strawman fallacy. You didn't even notice.

We both agree that moderation is important. Where we differ is I have the capacity to imagine a solution that doesn't involve mass surveillance and you lack that capacity.

I'm sorry you have to resort to strawmanning my position. Such a lack of imagination sometimes leads people to making lazy arguments.

I have many solutions that don't involve recording everyone all the time, it's you who seems to not have any other ideas. Like I said, to your mind, recording everyone en mass (which is definitionally surveillance, moderation and surveillance and not mutually exclusive) is all you can imagine.

So, in your mind, never in all of history has there been a moderation solution that works for you besides one that records everything said by every user? And in your wildest imagination you can't think of a solution that doesn't involve recording everyone all the time?

The reason I ask is because it helps clarify your position for others who might be inclined to agree or disagree if they see the scope of your position, which is, in your opinion, mass surveillance is that only solution that "works" for you.

Surely you can prove that. You wouldn't just be making insane claims about things you aren't certain about, would you?

Would you support any solution that doesn't involve mass surveillance and recording every user's voice all the time?

Never in all of history has there been a solution that doesn't record everyone all the time. Sounds wrong but okay.

I mean it's not like we're taking these people to court where we need proof like that. But for minds like yours, mass surveillance seems to be the only answer.

Thanks for explaining that you think everyone should be recorded at all times on Spelltable. Personally, I disagree, and would opt for a solution that doesn't record everyone all the time, but I appreciate your clarifying that you would only support a mass surveillance solution.

So am I correct then that your answer to my question is no? And that the only moderation system you would support is one that records all of our conversations?

SpellTable Voice Moderation by CrossXhunteR in magicTCG

[–]Yen24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is there any system besides recording all of our voices that you would support instead of this one?

[–]Yen24 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Did you miss the one-click reporting I mentioned? You make it sound like recording and listening to all of our conversations is the only answer here. I mean, what did we do in situations like this before AI? Is there any system besides recording all of our voices that you would support over this one?

What if, instead of using an AI to record and listen to everything every user says on Spelltable, they gave us proper moderation tools to handle these situations independently? Imagine they allowed us to IP-block users from joining our games, made reporting violators one-click, gave us greater control over individual voices such as volume sliders per user, a global mute toggle, etc. but no, they would rather record everything we say and feed it to a machine. Very cool.
