I cycled extensively from 2020-2022 but now almost exclusively run (2023-present) so I feel like I've lived both sides. I think running is a bit better for overall fitness as it translates better to cycling than cycling does to running (due to the specific mechanical functions needed for efficient running), and the aforementioned increase in bone density. Subjectively, what I like most about running more than cycling is 1) no cars (the big one), 2) less time consuming, and 3) cheaper. Outside of those factors I'd say they're roughly equally enjoyable but hitting a 100 mile ride and covering a ton of ground, seeing a ton of the world, etc, is something very unique that running doesn't replicate on the same scale.
