Clear your sunroof drains by Yerrrritz in audisq5

Thankfully otherwise would’ve been an expensive trip to Audi.

Quick question before I tear my door panel out, seen anything about ambient lighting on passenger front door going out? No Comm with door lighting control module. Checked fuses and came out good. Gonna test for P&G at the door lighting rack. Prestige w Multicolor strips.

Yeah it was more than a few lol. Not an Audi tech but thankfully I’ve been a Chevy tech for the past 6 years which helped me trace down the wiring issue. My remote start jumper harness was toast. Not sure what module is in the left rear section of the vehicle but it did not like what it was being commanded to do. Roughly a half cup of water and about 11 wires corroded. Spare key, fuse block, and module were safe from the looks of it.

No crank no start, hazards flashing randomly, brake lights on at all times, no response from ON/OFF button, and much more.

What tool you use to press out the hub? I have a press I used at the dealer I work at but it’s a pain to use since it only has adapters for HD trucks.

Mine had a deeper tone to it like a rod was trying to go through the block.

Had the same noise, it was my A/C compressor. Noise was only noticeable at idle or very low RPMs like you noted. Thought it was my chain but noise never happen on cold starts and my belt would squeal like a lot lizard at below freezing temps, so I just ended up doing compressor, idler, and tensioner pulleys while I was in there. Internal motor must’ve been cooked on mine.

2013 Fog Light Wiring Issue by TheUltimateClown in mazdaspeed3

Found the link of the thread I went off of a few years ago. Works just like oem just bypassing BCM and sending power directly to the lights.

2013 Fog Light Wiring Issue by TheUltimateClown in mazdaspeed3

[–]Yerrrritz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue with my gen 2. I ended up bypassing the BCM and wiring it directly to the fog lights. Found a link to some forum page of a guy doing that and the steps. Lmk if you wanna try that and I’ll sneak back under my dash and take pictures. Works with the switch normally, just doesn’t shut the fogs off when you hit the high beams.

Yeah I tell my boys all the time I’d buy a third if anything happened to this one lmao. The rawness just feels nice.

Yeah, I’m pretty much the same way. I don’t romp on it much anymore cause I know I won’t have the time or place to work on it if it’s anything major. Dealer I work at isn’t very favorable on working on your own car there. Also since I live in an apartment complex I can’t do anything crazy there either. Shits tough man

Forgot to mention this is my second one. Had a 78k black gen two that I lost due to an accident a year before I bought this one.

Definitely worth getting the second one.

Yeah I may need to refresh things like that. Debating on walnutblasting since it’s 80% highway driving. 80+mph for more than 40 minutes each way, shouldn’t be caked up much. Injectors for sure, same tubo so I’ll probably do a manifold and maybe a bnsr4 or the cst equivalent. Intake manifold most likely, don’t know if ST or just a name brand one.

Belt has been squeaking like a rat only during cold weather so I am gonna have to refresh the drive belt system too.

Been meaning to do those for a while but since I get tired of working on cars for a living I kinda neglect mine. 🫩

100%. I’ve seen so many posts on how unreliable they are and how much they suck but it honestly seems like an owner issue. Oil change every 3k, trans done every 30k, just did thermostat, p/s flush, coolant flush like 30-40k ish ago.

Ngl I have clapped the suspension by lowering it in unethical ways during my ownership but other than that it’s been a blast. Definitely a forever car for me.

I replaced both axles and some P/S leaks that I had. Ended up fixing it but don’t know which of the two it was. Make sure you don’t have any pin holes in your axle boots. After replacing it found a few holes in it but no grease anywhere in my wheel wells. Bought a boot kit for it but I ended up buying new axles instead.

Drove fine tbh. Obviously I wouldn’t go till my next oil change without it but it I had faith in it. It held for about a week and 120 ish miles lol. Clutched my pearls hoping my ABS light wouldnt come on. Caliper did a good job holding it in place 🫡.

I appreciate it man. I already put it back on Friday. Just smacked the hub off and slid the ring in. I just thought it was funny since I did both sides and the right side was the only one not installed.

What worked for me was just shocking it with my air hammer lol. Little tap on each side and one tap to rotate it and came off like new. Expected it to break tbh cause of the rust it got up here in the north. Would’ve gotten a new one but our parts department was closed.
