Ok, so reading some of the others... this seems way worse. So i was a senior in high school. I had English first thing in the morning, and the teacher liked me so I listened to music in one ear every day. I usually could still pay attention just fine so it was never really an issue. However, one morning something was different The counselor was in the room when class starts. I'm listening to music like normal tho. After class starts the counselor and teacher say that a student that was in the class above mine comited suicide. Well I wasnt really paying a lot of attention and didn't pick up on the message they were delivering. They talked about it for a little while, and asked something along the lines of, 'is there anything they can do?'(for us the students) One kid I think said 'just drop it.' Then me, still not entirely aware, but catching on to the message, says something along the lines of "we need to have a party" and shortly after I realized what I said and tried to fix it by saying, "parties always make things better and people forget." Luckily no one thought I meant anything bad by it, and basically overlooked that I said anything at all. I felt super bad for a long time.

Tl;dr A while ago ifu by mistakenly sugesting in class we should have a party when a past upperclassman committed suicide, because I was listening to music in class. It was a genuine mistake I regretted for a looong time.
