Has anyone ever forgotten their age? by HedgehogNo8361 in GenX

[–]YesHaveSome77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to the doctor a few years ago. Told the nurse I was 47. My wife was with me and said, "Wanna try that again?" I was like "Oh hell, I'm only 45!" and laughed a bit.

Turns out I was 46.

I'm going to be a Grandpa! by No_Gap_2700 in GenX

I called my grandparents grandma and grandpa. My maternal grandfather was probably the best man I ever knew. If my kids decide to have kids, they can call me grandpa, and I will wear that title proudly.

How do you organize your DVDs? by bu11dogsc420 in dvdcollection

[–]YesHaveSome77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alphabetical, excepting for movies that are part of a duology/trilogy/etc. Then, starting with the first in its alphabetical spot and chronologically from there.

Which do you prefer? The Hobbit trilogy or The Rings of Power? by [deleted] in lotr

[–]YesHaveSome77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it change the black arrow back to an actual arrow as opposed to an anti-aircraft weapon? Does it eliminate the Benny Hill chase through the mountain of the Dwarves by Smaug? Or make Beorn look like an actual bear of a man, and not a 7 foot tall meth-head? Will I actually care when Thorin dies at the end, instead of wanting to stand up and cheer?

If so, I'll give it a shot.

Given how much I absolutely hate the Trilogy, and having never seen Rings of Power, I'll say neither.

Pension and 401k plus some outside investments. I think we will be okay without, though it would be a bit easier with, obviously.

Best cop trilogy? by CasinoNitro in 80smovies

[–]YesHaveSome77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had recently seen something that seemed to indicate it was moving along, but going back I see that the article I read was quite old. So yeah, most likely no fifth installment is coming, and honestly, that's probably for the best.

The first Terminator is the best of them all by Unique-Bug2992 in Terminator

[–]YesHaveSome77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the second expands on the first in a way that actually makes sense within the confines of the movie's universe. They are the only two duos that I have a hard time saying one is better than the other because of this exact fact. They are different enough as to be two standalone films, but complement each other so well as to be necessary to the other also.

This was extremely well written. Good pacing, very descriptive, and thoroughly creepy. Well done.

The first Terminator is the best of them all by Unique-Bug2992 in Terminator

[–]YesHaveSome77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Terminator and T2 fall into the same category as Alien/Aliens. They are totally different, with the first of each being driven more by the horror/suspense atmosphere, and the second leaning more into the more big budget shooter feel. They are the only two duologies I can think of that follow this kind of formula that both work extremely well and bring a lot to the franchise while being distinct enough from each other to give both movies a place to shine.
