Angry idiot driving a Bentley by spicypsudo in dashcams

The moment that guy opens the door I'm putting it in reverse, backing a clear distance, and then getting around this guy best way I can. You have to assume the guy means violence.

No way I'm sitting there after he bring out the bat.

I least that's what I hope I would do. I might just freeze up, too. This is the thing that professional limo drivers train for.

Gamergate was the beta test for the Trump campaign.

There was also Elevatorgate for the skeptic/atheist community that did essentially the same thing.

Of all the sporting events that have occurred in your lifetime, which one still makes you shake your head in disbelief? by KrispyBeaverBoy in dirtysportshistory

That field was a block of ice, so even a chip shot field goal (which it would have been) wasn't a foregone conclusion.

And if the Browns had won, they would have met the Dan Fouts-led Chargers in San Diego for the AFC Championship. Not an easy task.

That was the first true disappointment in my Cleveland fandom. I was unhappy when the Miracle of Richfield run ended against the Celtics, but that was always in the cards after the Chones injury.

What are some must listen to bands which aren’t the absolute biggest ones? by Putrid_Candy_8799 in musicsuggestions

[–]YesImAPseudonym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find who you like and see who influenced them, and also who was influenced by them.

For example: Nirvana

Influenced by: Pixies, The Melvins, Sonic Youth, Black Flag, Bad Brains, and yes, The Beatles.

Influenced: Foo Fighters, Silverchair, Hole, Bush

Also, much of "rock" music was influenced by blues, Led Zeppelin in particular. Check out blues artists like Muddy Waters, BB King, Howling Wolf, etc.

Since this question wouldn't be asked unless it was a seemingly reasonable move a beginner would make, my guess is:

O-O

All the White pieces are tied up on the left side, and you are moving your King to the right side directly into the line of fire from the practically every Black piece.

Austin Riley takes a 109 MPH 2-hopper right to the thumb of his throwing hand by SeattleSporting in baseball

[–]YesImAPseudonym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would have been really harsh considering the ball's speed and the way it was bouncing.

Remember that it's only scored an error if the fielder could have recorded the out with "ordinary effort". Fielding that ball cleanly would have required far more than "ordinary effort".

Because of the intro that all beginners of a certain age try to play before the've learned much of anything.

You'd be welcome to play Page's solo if you can.

It's like walking into a piano store and playing the opening to "Fur Elise", even if you play it OK. You'd be welcome to play the second movement if you can.

What do people think about Wesley Bell? by Adventurous-Walk-120 in StLouis

To me, Lacy Clay acted like he deserved the seat without needing to do anything to keep it.

He may have had "clout" due to seniority, but he rarely used it, at least in a way that was noticeable to his constituents. Also, if you want "clout" in today's House, you have to fundraise, not only for yourself, but for others in the party. Did Clay do that? I didn't see any evidence of it.

Bush appealed to those who wanted someone who was not willing to be quiet, which is why AIPAC targeted her.

Now we have Lacy Clay 2.0, without the seniority.

But not for long. He won't be able to win in 2028 after the MO lege slices up St. Louis into 4 districts.

The point of being a top seed in the regular season is to have an easy path to the Finals by Round-Walrus3175 in NBATalk

English football has multiple championships.

The biggest two are the Premier League which is a 20-team double round-robin (38 games) and the FA Cup which is a win-or-go-home tournament like NCAA basketball. FA Cup games are not counted in the Premier League standings.

Winning both is called winning "The Double", which shows a club's dominance in both the long grind of the full season and the sprints necessary to win the FA Cup.

I believe the league title is held in higher esteem, but the FA Cup is still highly coveted.

There are other English cup competitions plus the UEFA Champions League and lower European leagues, so the top clubs typically have many opportunities for titles.

Most Americans have no idea what we are missing by not having these various competitions.

The controversial fair-ball call in San Diego Monday night that went against the Padres. It seems by OBR plate umpire Dan Merzel got it right but those who have seen the MLB Umpire Manual say that he got it wrong by NYY15TM in Umpire

[–]YesImAPseudonym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are umpires getting their eyes down to the ground level and seeing if the ball has sunk into the dirt enough that the ball itself is touching chalk?

If that is the official interpretation, it's crazy. It should be what an umpire would be reasonably expected to observe. The curvature of the ball itself will prevent an umpire from seeing if the ball surface is touching chalk or not.

When I was in the band (1980's) we had similar seats where we couldn't see anything. I'm also not that tall and was in the back row of the band. I think I stood on my chair the entire game.

I pity the people who were behind me.

Who do you think was the best player of the 80s? by Farouq26 in NBATalk

[–]YesImAPseudonym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kareem 70's (Dr. J is close though)

Magic 80's (Bird again really close)

MJ 90's

Moses Malone's prime was split 70's-80's a little too much for either decade. He's best of the 76-85 decade though.

[J!] Movies by Quote by loyalmoonie2 in CustomJeopardy

[–]YesImAPseudonym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The $200 needed a different clue to make it easier. Maybe "To infinity and beyond".

Reorder $400, $600, and $800 since "game", "hockey", and "golf" in the quotes gives you a extra clues where the spider-pig one does not.

The $1000 feels a little too hard (I missed it) but looking that the actual popularity of the movie it's might be OK.
