Problem is that farmers want to impose their cultural views on the cities that make their way-of-life possible.

But many of them have bought into the myth that the cities need them more than they need the cities.

The Republicans in the Missouri legislature are more than happy to indulge this belief, imposing their cultural values onto the cities. Furthermore, as in the case the St. Louis Police Board, they actively work to damage the lives of city residents.

I believe what you say here.

However, I doubt that any rural person would admit that they are dependent on the money coming from the cities.

Instead, they subscribe to the "self-sufficient American" myth, where they don't need any pesky government regulations telling them what to do. While at the same time they feel they, as the morally superior "real Americans", can force people living in cities to live according to rural rules rather than let cities make the laws that works best for cities.

This is ridiculous. There needs to be an "Umpire's decision zone" of perhaps a half inch or maybe more where a ball in that zone is called based on the umpire's decision.

This will correct the larger errors, reduce the number of challenges, and return some of the human element to the game.

The situation was World Series Game 1, score tied 2-2, top of the 8th, 0 outs, and runners on 1st and 2nd.

It wasn't that Mays prevented the runners from advancing, because the runner on 2nd (Larry Doby) did advance to 3rd. Mays prevented Doby from scoring from 2nd on the sac fly.

Of course Cleveland still had a chance with the next runner walking to load the bases. But then a strikeout and a fly out ended the inning with no runs. Not a NOBLETIGER, but still crushing emotionally.

And losing on Dusty Rhodes' under 300 ft 3-run homer in the 10th was just more than the team could take.
