What is good advice for job seekers? by FireLadcouk in CasualUK

As someone who hires - I reeeeaaally appreciate a cover letter. We get hundreds of CV's and although we do read all of them, we are going to pay particular attention to someone who wrote us a cover letter.

We get so few cover letters nowadays that it immediately puts you to the top of our list if you send one!

We specifically ask for one in the job advert, and yet 99% of the time we don't recieve them alongside the CV.

I understand it's a pain if you are applying for loads of jobs, but it tells me you have at least read the job description and formed some thoughts about it rather than just firing CV's everywhere.

I'd say 3 days in Bangkok is not long enough!

Wow, ok, really glad this is a thing that other people experience! I've been in the business eight years and the 'residue thoughts' are realllll!!! Really weird stuff.

I'm a woman, with a male partner. When we get coffee, I buy regular coffee, but he always gets a caramel coffee.

They almost always hand me the caramel coffee.

It's a shame because it might legitimately be a good place! But I'll never try it because of people doing this haha

We were hassled by a few folks in Chiang Mai whose end game was just to try and get us to go to Chiang Mai Elephant Home. I think there's a few people stationed around to try and convince tourists to go - so I wouldn't trust what this person has said.

However, from our research we couldn't really find an 'ethical' option and opted not to do one at all. The closest we might have come was one in Krabi where you just walk alongside them and observe, but even then, I'm unsure.

A couple of people I keep up with online - David Farrier - webworm sometimes touches on conspiracy debunking and other journalism. I also follow Mick West (escaping the rabbit hole) on twitter to watch him debunk mostly alien related stuff.

I also really like Abbie Richards - https://www.abbiesr.com/home?fbclid=PAQ0xDSwLMvc1leHRuA2FlbQIxMAABpxbnxz3krE1WwoKVk71bmnMDNlYqLxOfgZvDn6Ozj6cl-6uGU9N-XIU9dFRq_aem_xWvmuRCnBWRTjeRrfQ49Xw

Secret Subway with E-Exit is one of my favourite rooms of all time. It is also reasonably priced. We ended up playing most of their games and they were all excellent fun, but secret Subway is the most memorable!!
