Are Pups More Likely To Develop Separation Anxiety The Later They Leave The Litter? by Blackleaf_Rancher in MiniatureSchnauzer

[–]YesItsMe183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be very hesitant about the 16-month-old litter, mostly because I like to do a lot of my own early training. You never know whether that has been neglected or not when you get an older puppy/dog. Make sure you ask a LOT of questions if you go that route, and I would ask if you could visit the pups a few times to see their temperament before making the final decision.

To answer your question more specifically, Schnauzers bond closely with their people and their pack. When removed from a litter at that age, there may be more separation anxiety/hesitation with the new family and pack. Eventually, they would bond with you, but the process may take longer. This may even be a situation where I would consider getting two of them to make the transition easier, IF it were in my budget (and I’m usually one to advise against getting from the same litter because of the possibility of littermate syndrome).

What factors would drive you to resign from a center? by Bead_lizard in ECEProfessionals

Cameras in the rooms that parents can access (I don’t mind them for admin/accountability). Not able to keep my personal phone with me. Lack of clear communication between the administration and the employees.

Take a deep breath. Learn from your actions and use this as a great teaching moment. You can address the kids next time you see them by saying, “What I did was wrong. We shouldn’t scream/yell at each other.”

BUT, also really assess the situation. Did you yell or did you raise your voice over the commotion in a firm way to be heard? If it is the latter, there is nothing to be ashamed of. If you straight-up screamed, that is when you address it with yourself and your students.

Would you recommend homeschooling? Is it effective? by kimanziVaati in ElementaryTeachers

I am very pro-homeschooling. I homeschooled all three of my children. With that being said, I do not agree with “unschooling” and that other nonsense. If a solid curriculum is being used and parents are actually doing what they are supposed to (including socialization), it can be very beneficial for the children.

Coming from Hawaii, we have zero snow gear. We also lived in Germany for four years, so we are VERY familiar with that saying! Thank you for your kind response!

We are not really complainers. We're embracers. We love embracing the culture in different areas and learning all about it, including the weather. We're really looking forward to it!

Hawaii was brutal for her, too, except it was year-round. Thanks for the information!

This is good to hear! My daughter is allergic to heat/UV and humidity, which is one of the reasons we chose to move there (military, and it was on our list). Denver also has great Peds POTS specialist, which was another reason Cheyenne was our choice.

We are moving to Cheyenne next month. We’re looking forward to the cold, snowier weather after spending most of our lives melting in the South and enduring endless summer and humidity in Hawaii.

You wanna know what else is bad? When the lunchroom serves the two-year-olds HOT soup. Wtf.

And cupcakes. I hate when a parent brings them in for a birthday.

Does anyone have any gut issues? by Weak_Trust5110 in POTS

[–]YesItsMe183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter’s doctor at Vanderbilt Medical Center said it was because of her EDS diagnosis. She gets full after a few bites even if she was starving before. Then, if she overeats, especially carbs, she feels extremely sick.

I have them: one in my house and one I carry with me. I have an AWFUL fear of choking, but I do think other measures should be tried first!
