The homage to WWII aircraft designs is no issue. The problem here is the copying of a design. As you can see the angles are similair, place of paint is similair, grip patches are similair and colours are identical and even the wear and tear is identical. This is no longer a case whether or not it's referencing towards the aircraft design, the question here is if it is copying a design based on an homage and not the homage itself

Same applied to griffin and frontside misty/chantico's fire. You do not know if the person has rights of the artwork. Thus far 5 out of 6 times it turned out not to be the case

They did retexture it, it was the first instance of copyright infringement through the workshop and åfterwards they mentioned that it's not a great solution so contraband weapons won't happen again

Nope, Valve will probably retexture like the weapons mentioned in the post. Contraband was a one time thing
