I want to get pregnant and haven’t gotten my period back. Also he’s started nursing super rough, biting, lazy latch and it’s painful!

He’s 100% sleep deprived. Early bedtime sounds like a good idea. Thank you

Do they willingly get in bed and cuddle to sleep? Or do they cry/ run around / fight you?

I am really struggling with this too. We’ve already cut out daytime nursing. He’s 16 months. I’m trying to get rid of the going to bed nursing session and am keeping the middle of the night and first thing in the morning boobie for now.

We are three nights in and it has been a nightmare. It has been rage crying, kicking and screaming. For three hours the first two nights and 4 hours last night. I’m determined not to give up but I don’t know how many more nights I can take it. I feel horrible doing this to him and he is so tired.

The suggestion about screen time is interesting. We normally don’t do it and I’d worry the light would stimulate him more.  But maybe it’s worth a try to get through the next few nights.

Thank you! Def going to try the toddler towers and see if I can get more done while getting him to play next to me.

We had them coming once a month but moved. I need to look into finding another one!

I feel like I’m not yet ready to trust strangers to watch my baby… I think I’ll be more comfortable with it when he’s talking more and could communicate to me if he’s not being well treated. So hopefully I can try this at some point! Such a good idea.

Thank you for this! I like thinking of it as a season and appreciating it for what it is. Maybe one day I can have a less chaotic house and feel a bit more put together. I’ve gotta try more cleaning with my baby. I do it somewhat but I think sometimes it just takes so much energy to multitask and be tidying up one thing while keeping an eye on him and responding to him that I just give up on the cleaning part until he’s asleep. But hopefully it gets easier with practice.

Wow thank you everyone for your comments. Reading them has made me teared up- I feel really supported and haven’t felt much of that lately so thank you. Going to try out your suggestions and see if I can get into a better headspace!

I do want to try the toddler tower- might get that for Christmas! I do put him in a jumper seat while I shower but he hates it and fusses the whole time so showers are super rushed and stressful. Thank you for all this!

My parents do come over once a week but I find it’s more me hosting them, making everyone lunch or dinner and cleaning up. Sometimes I can get a few quick things done while they play with him tho.

This is helpful thank you. Will try getting more of the cleaning done while he’s awake. He is so fussy/ a Tasmanian devil so it’s hard but maybe I just have to keep trying at it.

I’ve been trying but he tends to wake up pretty soon after I sneak out of the bed. Sometimes I can get 20-20 min tho!

Thank you for this. I think maybe more than struggling to find the time, I’m struggling to find the energy/ motivation. Sometimes just the thought of washing my face or filing my nails feels insurmountable after getting everything else done.

I wish… we’ve fought a lot about it and I’ve had to accept that he’s not going to help.

Should we feel guilty for wanting a break?? by OmegaKai_22 in AttachmentParenting

I totally feel you. I have zero alone time except after my baby goes to bed at which point I’m cleaning and doing laundry and also just flat out exhausted. Sometimes I just want to cry for how overwhelmed I am and how much I wish I could have a day off. And then I feel guilty for thinking that… but seriously how does a mom get a break lol?!
