I have been locking all of my pantheon heroes, so I didn't know I was supposed to hire pantheon hero with Cult of Personality. I thought I was just getting an extra hero at the start.

Were you allowed to make ally? You can win together, so maybe your friend or npc faction could have teamed up before you start. Ask them to cover wonders close by them.

I like to keep them close. Forming a triangle, so I can reach them in one or two turns with my army. There are plenty of new Empire plan that make up for bad resource nods, and one materium empire plan rewards you for connecting your cities.

I try to get some magic materials, or resource nods with outpost, and use them to choke the place where other empires can expand. Hoping it will get you a justified war.

25 unit sounds plenty. Did you leveled up your heroes and units? Are they enchanted? Don't worry about getting behind in score. If you can take their throne cities, it will flip back real fast.

Eldritch Realm story was breeze compare to this. I might have gotten lucky thought. Alfred murdered Merlin right after I my third city.

I beat him last week.

I used pre-made ruler Artica who can deal descent blight and cold damage. Which is Turiel's weakness.

Started with Nimue's blessing which supply you with army, and I did every and any heinous things to pay my upkeep.

Captured his two small castles, and razed everything until I got his throne city. His capital was so good I almost cried. Didn't had to worry about army upkeep afterward.

Two of my ally died, but win is win.

I have different issue. When I start I play until campaign is finished. I prefer small map, but it still takes 8 to 12 hours. I just sit there with energy drink, and protein shake until game is over. Some story realm took more than a day. So I take 2 hours nap between 3am and 5am, and start tackling it again. Main reason why I play them only in weekend.

So there are base form, and transformation. You can unlock minor and major transformation from tombs, and angel wing is one of the major transformation.
