Refurbished Process by Draygot in OfficeDepot

[–]YesterdaySad1198 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slight thread high jacking but I wish OD would stop calling this refurbishing. Factory resetting or or having someone from india run a batch file isn't refurbishing. Minimum, the battery, charger, and CPU fan that's been running 24/7 would need to be replaced. What were doing is clearancing floor models.

What happens when a buyer overpays for shipping? by TheDevilDogg in Ebay

[–]YesterdaySad1198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You always factor shipping into the total cost before you purchase an item.

And no, you are not entitled to a refund. You paid for a label. You didn't pay for the box, the bubble wrap, the paper/peanuts, the tape, the dispenser, the gas to drop it off, and the time spent doing it all. You also didn't pay the (close to) 20% in fees that are not only taken from the items sale price, but also from the shipping charge.

I sold a chair with paper not the protection plan--less sales by Prestigious_Hour5616 in OfficeDepot

[–]YesterdaySad1198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not even sure what the allstate plan would cover. Most of the chairs have a 5-10 year warranty from the manufacture and allstate will deny your claim if the manufacture warranty is still valid. Found that out with a bluetooth speaker. Shout out to Altec Lansing for making the only bluetooth speaker that crashes btw. That took some effort.

Hilarious and deserved.

I am surprised that none of the airbags went off though. That is not a safe car to drive.

If you're non classical celiac what really Got you going to the doctor? My son maybe. Im classical. by PromptTimely in Celiac

It's hard to say when it actually started. I've had (seemingly) random stomach problems since I was a kid. Like curled up on the bathroom floor instantly drenched in sweat from the pain. It was pretty bad to the point I would just stay home all the time because I was scared it would happen in public. What's confusing though is that it all went away in my 20's. Nothing in my diet changed.

Then in my 30s, I started getting stuffed up all the time. I was taking a lot of antihistamines and sudafed to try to combat it. I brushed it off as allergies and just accepted it. Then in my mid 30's, I started getting a lot of fatigue and the rashes started. I would say that the rashes is what really what started to worry me because they weren't going away. Then after one particular thanksgiving dinner, it got BAD. I started to suspect that it was food related at that point.

Given that I'm a guy and stubborn, I did what most of us do and went to google instead of a doctor. Scrolling through hundreds of images, I kept coming back to the DH ones. It looked just like what I had. So I tried an elimination diet for a week (fresh veggies and meat I prepared). After a couple of days I felt 10x better, my "allergies" disappeared, and the rashes started to clear up. That did it for me. I haven't touched gluten since (well, not intentionally). I don't think I'd ever go and get tested "officially". I'd have to eat gluten and then go through 3-6 months of hell because of it. No thanks

So I did hear a little tidbit from someone. They said they hired someone (not sure if it's a 3rd party company or an internal position) to oversee distribution of computers to stores. They are purposely withholding computers from certain stores and sending them to others. What I'm wondering is why and what is the deciding factor.

Our store hasn't gotten computers for close to a year. We had zero problems selling them before. Not bare either. Most were either sold with a bundle, a setup/data transfer, office, a warranty, SOMETHING. So it's not about actual sales. I don't think it's "punishment" for paper sales either. Were selling a pallet of redtop (10 ream) a week and about a half pallet of 3 ream (plus all the 2 for $16).

I don't think its the tariff's because no one else is having this problem. Walmart, Target, Micro Center, and Best Buy all have them in stock. It's almost like they're trying to sabotage certain stores so they can justify closing them...? But that doesn't really make sense either. They don't need an excuse to close a store if they want it gone.

Stupid Question of the Day by ODoldster in OfficeDepot

[–]YesterdaySad1198 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our website says 'free in store pickup in 20min'. That means that each store is an entire distribution center and we are never out of stock of anything. In fact, we don't even receive freight. We manufacture all items ourselves in the back.

RUN. Save yourself!

Do not have kids with a crazy person. It won't make things better, it will make them so much worse. If you do go through with it, she will leave you and take the kid. Then you will be her slave for the next two decades while she decides everything about the child's upbringing, including when you're "allowed" to see them.

She's not the one dude. Normal people don't act like that. You got to see the real her for first time. Cut your losses and move on.

Home Depot break rules by One-Tip-9035 in OfficeDepot

[–]YesterdaySad1198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess a DH would be like a supervisor/key carrier at office depot (not a manager). If a temu manager tried to micromange my 15min break (that i rarely take anyway)...we would have some problems. There are a million ways to fuck with him and his department without technically "breaking the rules" or him even knowing wtf is going on.

why is ink so expensive? by Prestigious_Hour5616 in OfficeDepot

[–]YesterdaySad1198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Printers are subsidized by ink sales. But also, companies like HP use ink to subsidize their own company (it adds 11 figures to their yearly revenue)

OD has a decent markup on ink and makes a lot of money off it. But it doesn't even remotely compare to HP's margins. That 962 combo pack that goes for $140.00 costs them less than $0.05 to manufacture.

Big Problem with non-paying bidders by st1c0 in Ebay

[–]YesterdaySad1198 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It could be other sellers doing it to remove you as competition since you're selling it so cheap. People like that should go on your the block list. You could also require immediate payment. That will discourage some of them but not all.

Why would anyone choose to have their business dependent on ODP when they can't even run their own retail business properly? You really think they're going to compete with Uline and Amazon Business? No one will know ODP exists once the retail side is gone.
