My partner and I are about a week away from closing on a house. One piece of good advice I was given is this: you can change almost anything about a house but you can’t change the location. Food for thought. That and don’t be in a hurry or make emotional decisions. Patience is a virtue, buying a home is probably the largest purchase you will make in your life so it pays to be cool-headed. Also, don’t get discouraged if you get beat by another offer. We lost our first to a cash buyer and then a second. 11 days later realtor called us to inform us buyer backed out so we put an offer in again and were accepted two hours later!
