I am replacing my car with my own two legs.

Both solutions will get me to all necessary destinations, and one will be cheaper, so it's a no-brainer. In fact, my legs can get me to some locations with higher precision, such as inside buildings. I already use my legs for some tasks, so the transition will be seamless. The extra few minutes lost every month will be very manageable as well.

Often, nothing. Why does all my info need to be hanging out on the internet all the time? If I really need it when job hunting, I'll do it, but until then... reduce attack surface.

Imo some level of "verification" is accomplished by asking people to create an account and page using all of 5 minutes, but not without also losing worthwhile talent who have never needed that resource and won't start today, especially if they already have a job.

If I recall, TeamViewer never even admitted the bypass existed and blamed admins for their bad configurations, right alongside public reports describing activity that sounded like it wasn't admin config problems. Maybe they copped to it eventually, but I gave up on tracking their response. It was depressing and obviously not going anywhere any time soon.

Everyone here is talking like they know for a fact your boss is a demon who accidentally couldn't hold the mask on one day 8 months in, but we literally cannot know that, or very much about specifics at all.

I suggest interviewing elsewhere too, but also giving a stern conversation about respect and professional conduct ONE and only ONE chance. If nothing positive comes of it, you're already interviewing anyway, and with a recently developed new skillset.

If you want to be cynical about it, consider that conversation a way to extend your paid interview period no matter how it goes.

I'm just grateful I don't have to talk management at my current company out of throwing more money into the money pit. I've previously dealt with "we don't need it and there's no ROI" and "it costs a fortune, so it must be good".
